Yes!

I'd love to hear the thoughts of our SEC brethren on the head coaching hire at the University of Arkansas

I'm enjoying the headlines on ESPN's front page today.

Safe to say the B1G is not amused.

Interesting hire. Really out of left field. I like the hire and his style. If he can fit on the SEC and NWA I think he will be successful. Can he win the SEC? Good question. I do like that Arky went for a different style than the Petrino/briles/dykes offense, no defense direction

My opinion : wasn't expected, very good coach, surprised you got him away from whisky, think he will do very well at Ark. Absolutely the best hire of any SEC program this year and in the last few years. Ark fans should be extremely excited.

After watching the Oregon State/Wisconsin game back in September, I'm going to have to agree with this.

I think Bielema is a good hire but y'all should pay attention to who he brings along as coordinators.

Bielema will never beat Miles, Muschamp or Saban

I do agree with this statement. If Tennessee manages to get Strong I will put it up there with this hire though.

Very good hire IMO. He's going to bring a toughness that has been lacking to the team. I mean this with no disrespect in mind; he is going to bring a grittier style down to Arky, and I think it will make y'all the perfectSEC style team.

Good, solid, hire.

I am skeptical. His brand of football is a complete 180 from what Petrino was developing. I see Rich Rod like expectations with the same problems he had with changing philosophy of program. Y'all will run him outta town in 3 years.

I think its a good hire but an odd one. You are talking about a guy who likes to build a gigantic line and then run the ball about every play behind them. Please tell me how this is going to translate to Arkansas's personel that they have on their team at the current moment, presuming thats the kind of offense we are going to expect.

Arkansas has recruited kids to the spread type offense that is built for airing the ball out not running the ball 75% of the time. I just think Arkansas was looking for a guy who could come in and have some instant success and I just dont see that happening until the offense transitions to the new play style. There is going to be a few years of growing pains IMO.

I think if you give him time it could work out. Like four years.

Great hire. I have enjoyed watching Wisconsin play the past few years. He's bringing a winning brand of football to Arkansas.

If Saban had left for Dallas, and we hired Beliema, I would be optimistic.

Well done. Much better than Malzahn.

He needs a good four years to recruit a full complement of beef.

If given the time, he will win consistently.

Posted this on another thread:

It's a hilariously terrible fit.

Arky's insecurity drove this decision. It went after the proverbial "splash" hire. It looks and sounds nice on the surface and grabs some attention.

But it actually doesn't address what Arky needed in a head coach: a recruiter.

This guy's way of combating the poaching of his players is whining...to the media. Dude's adherence to "gentleman's agreements" keeps him from chasing after guys committed elsewhere.

The guy literally said he wants to be nothing like the SEC.

And he's not.

But hey, I couldn't be happier.

To be fair, one of his biggest hurdles will be y'all's fan base. He really is going to switch styles and it may be a bumpy ride initially. Give him his time and see what he can do without calling for his head.
