The ball is snapped from the 38. The QB is not in the frame when he is at the 40. The ball enters the frame when he is between the 41 and 42.

Now that I look at it again, you are correct. He is right around 3 yards past LOS when the ball is released, which is what matters for this rule I believe.

As for the qb crossing the line, it helps to know the rule. The rule is that the QB's entire body has to be across the LOS when the pass is thrown for it to be an illegal forward pass. It changed a few years ago.

they were in pretty good control of the game when they tackled ole miss three straight plays for loss, then marched right down the field for a touchdown to make it 30-24 after being down 30-10. then the no look tip catch happened

Refs mis tons of calls in a game. Most all are more significant than the lineman downfield.

All I see in this thread is Alabama fans agreeing that it should have been called, and OM posters acting like douches

The thread back fired and they feel very defensive about their win which is strange. You would think they would just be happy to be 3-0 and move on to next weeks game. With all the mistakes Bama made that game there are about 15 teams in the CF who could have beat us. Some of those wouldnt have even been a contest at the end. Never seen a team melt so hard after a win.

Number 70 from Alabama is right in front of a Ref to. So was the Ole Miss Lineman on their long TD play.

The Refs are not even looking to call this penalty. I guess that Ref in the middle of the field with a Offensive lineman right in front of him is looking for something else.

Its funny how Bama fans are not the ones bringing this all up day in and day out. I think most rational Bama fans have moved on. Ole Miss fans must have some serious doubts about their team to be melting after a win.

I think Bama was in control for part of the game. Controlled LOS for most of the game on both sides of the ball. Led the game with more 1st downs, more yards, higher percentage of 3rd down conversions (55% for Bama to 29% for Ole Miss), controlled T.O.P. Did not control turnovers, average starting field position, or, most importantly, scoreboard.

Key stretch in game part 1:
1st qtr. Bama has ball at own 16. 2 plays later throws int that OM takes to the Bama 28. OM scores on 4th down at end of a 6 play, 28 yard drive. OM kicks off to Bama, who fumbles ball when Drake runs into teammate. OM gets ball at Bama 18. P.I. on first down puts ball at the Bama 4 yard line. 3 plays later Kelly scores.
OM with 2 TDs on 44 yards of O in 3:15 of game clock to take 17-3 lead. (ALL OM 1st half scoring drives account for total of 46 yards of O)

Key stretch in game part 2:
OM starts with ball in 2nd half. Bama forces a 3rd & 1 and OM is in shotgun. Ball snapped high (bama had zero to do with this). Kelly tips to himself and heaves a prayer with two defenders in face and nano seconds away from sacking him. Ball, despite being thrown into double coverage, is twice tipped by Bama defenders and goes into WR hands for 66 yard TD catch and run. OM takes 14 point lead. Had ball been INT or knocked down, it's Bama ball with momentum.

Key stretch in game part 3 (AKA - the death blow):
Bama scores to cut lead to 6 (30-24). OM hits the pop-pass on 2nd down for 73 yard TD to take lead up to 36-24. Bama has 3rd & 5 on next drive and Cocker throws INT that gives OM the ball at Bama 31 yard line. OM hits Treadwell for 24 yard TD. OM now leads 43-24 after scoring 2 TDs in a total of 2:46 of game clock.

As I said in the other thread, I don't see why teams don't run the option/pop pass 20 times a game. The refs aren't gonna call it. Seems like a no-brainer.

If it's illegal, then call it. I'm just glad we have Auburn fans who break down every aspect of Bama games. Your interest is greatly appreciated
