You forgot standing by the grill on Saturday afternoons with a transistor radio listening for the scores to be called in - and day not complete until someone called in with Slippery Rock score.

The things I miss are relatively inexpensive tickets, and the ease of finding a good parking/tailgate spot without having a special parking pass. Just park the first good place you found, maybe pay a college student $10 to park in his yard.

I miss the jumbo package, losing to Northern Illinois, going on probation, losing to Kentucky, going on probation, losing to Tennessee every year, going 3-9, hiring Mike Shula.

I personally don't like the playoff system.
I liked the fact that fans of teams from different conferences argued who was better or who was the real national champion.
People still argue to this day and it's good for football and tradition.
No one will really remember any of these playoff teams.

Why do you think people loved Larry Munson other than being one of the greatest play by play men ever? Because about half of the games on the schedule were radio only.
