Mr. Speaker, an egregious error was committed in haste when the former commissioner, in an effort to increase revenue and presented with a golden opportunity to invade Texas, accepted Misery to balance the conference with a 14th member. Misery beguiled the honorable Mr. Slive with the promise of delivering the St. Louis and Kansas City television markets as leverage with the networks while presenting the facade of competitive big 3 sports programs as well as a considerable academic reputation. While the television numbers may have been delivered as promised, both the athletics and academics have been of far less quality than purported. As such, the reputation of the league has suffered as well the quality of competition on the field. Now we are presented with evidence of academic fraud in Columbia which further damages the league's standing and undermines a principle reason for admission into our conference. Given the circumstances, we are faced with no other choice but to rescind Misery's admission to this great conference. As a result, we are left with the unwieldy compliment of 13 teams and must find a suitable replacement for the Tigers. With that in mind, Mr. Speaker, I recommend we carefully consider the following list of candidates for possible inclusion into our hallowed league: UNC, NC State, UVA, Va Tech, West Va,, Oklahoma, and OK St.

The candidate must be both academically and athletically competitive as well as a flagship level institution. Let us correct our error post haste and return our beloved SEC to its former glory.

I vote for expulsion of Missouri.

Just saying, they drew an easy slate from the west IIRC and beat no one OoC, even lost to a shitty Indiana team. The East was bad, and they lost to the team behind them both years and were not a match for their opponents in the SEC CG. They weren't really that good

thats false. the east had two top 5 teams in 2013. only has happened two other times since 1992. you keep up with the false narrative though...

Mizzou was never a good fit. 12 teams worked great and was fine. 14 was to pay for raises of administrators and pay off favors...it did nothing for the athletes or fans

I vote to remove Mizzou and replace them with Miami.

They already recruit heavily in Florida even if they aren't in SEC and have a huge TV market.

Also, scandals involving hookers and cocaine parties are less embarassing to the rest of the conference than SJWs demanding safe spaces and petting zoos at stadiums.

I'd rather replace Mizzou with Texas and move Auburn to the East. For the same reasons you've outlined for the U.

You realize that some of the northern states actually have points furthest south in those states that are geographically more "southern" than states like Kentucky and West Virginia and Virginia? Adding those states do not mean an automatic cultural fit.

Playing devil's advocate here: The first few years we saw the ceiling of Missouri, a program that is capable of winning the east. They have fallen off the face of the planet since then, but who says they can't return to prominence? Meanwhile, Texas A&M has yet to really win anything. Just sayin..

TLDR: Mizzou sucks right now, but over the years they have been a solid program

Another redneck starting a "kick Mizzou out of the SEC" thread. Shocked I tell you, shocked!

Exactly. People need to stop overreacting with our recent performance in football and basketball. Mizzou ranks in the top 40 all-time in football AND men's basketball programs. You're kidding yourself if you actually think Mizzou finishing last in the SEC in basketball and only winning 3 games in football is the norm around here. We will be back.

That's some solid SEC talk right there! The committee will hear more evidence if it pleases the chairman.

They have won the SECE twice since 2012.

If their football is putrid what do you call everyone else?

That said... I don't think their fans realize how good of a coach Gary Pinkel was for them. He won't be easy to replace.

Missouri should have moved to the MAC instead of SEC for sports, but I get that the SEC wanted the St. Louis and KC markets for TV. That is the only reason they are in the SEC.
