Adding Clemson, NC, or NC State to the SEC would be devastating to the recruiting at Georgia and South Carolina. The conference as a whole would suffer. Let's not dilute our stock with anyone from NC or SC.

However, in light of further research provided by cockinhismouth, and verification on my part, I could support putting a VA school back on the table.

I submit the following pre-requisites, as we don't want to make the same mistake again.

1. Can you order sweet tea in ALL of VA?

2. Did VA go for Clinton or Trump in the last election, if you take out the District of Columbia suburbs?

3. Outside of DC, do they order soda, pop, or coke?

4. What is the Waffle House per capita ratio in VA, outside of the DC metro? It is consistent with the ratio found in other SEC states?

5. Are they BBQ neutral, or do they have some weird shitty Virginia style BBQ that has no business being introduced to our conference?

WildcatMike holds the gavel for this meeting, and I assume that replacements for Mizzou will have to take place on a separate vote.

Then we need to make a deal, if you want my vote.

My vote on removing Mizzou is contingent on not adding an additional Carolina team.

Let's call this the Georgia KickBack Provision.

If Mizzou is voted out, including a Georgia vote, and a Carolina school is voted in a separate procedure, the Georgia vote for kicking out Mizzou flips to a vote keeping Mizzou, retroactively nullifying the original vote if it was only a 1 vote victory to begin with. If it's a landslide vote, then the Georgia Kickbqck Provision would be irrelevant.

Let's get this approved, then move on with the vote.

I don't think the vote will be close. Probably 11 to 3 to oust. Vandy will vote for them to stay so they have company at the bottom.

Georgia owns recruiting in NC and VA. Don't need any competition out there.

A quick look at your roster shows 6 from the DMV area. Alabama has 9.

Thanks, its always good to work with other level headed folks toward progress.

I have an addendum to add to my submission heretofore referred to as the GKP (Georgia Kickback Provision).

Only SEC West founding members, excluding Auburn, can vote on whether or not the GKP is passed prior to the Mizzou vote.

It wouldn't be prudent for other East teams or Auburn to hold a gavel over Georgia's future success, which I'm sure you can understand.

Gotta be honest with you, I'm confident that WildcatMike has the votes to boot Missouri, even without UGa's vote.

This may not be the hill to make your stand

That may very well be true.

Without a comprehensive plan to vote for, that states who the replacement will be, or some kind of guarantee it won't be worse than the current situation, Georgia must vote no.

Look at it from my perspective.

Mizzou gives most of us an easy SEC win, most years.

Mizzou doesn't compete for recruits against most SEC schools.

Bad:

Mizzou isn't a Southern state, and it isn't an Eastern state-- it certainly isn't a Southeastern state. They are a center of bedwetting yankee liberal crybaby pussies. The NCAA stuff doesn't even bother me, Hell, it actually helps them fit in a little bit more.

I'm on the fence with them, which is why I can't vote Yes right now, without knowing the alternative won't be worse for Georgia.

ETA- I'm going to be away from my computer for a while.

This is my absentee ballot for "Keep Mizzou", subject to edit if I make it back before the actual vote is held and there are some deals on the table.

Second!

Edit: The founding members must do it in a fashion reminiscent of the Walk of Shame from the movie Lords of Discipline about The Citadel. We must line up and one by one turn our backs on their shameful University as they are escorted out the door.

Attention Carolina Fans:

If you vote to remove Mizzou, they could be replaced by Clemson, UNC, or NC State. It clearly looks like this is where it's going. That would be horrible for your program. You should vote no

Oh wait, you aren't a founding member. Nevermind.

Attention Tennessee Fans-

IF Mizzou is removed from the SEC, they will likely be replaced by another Carolina school which is going to hurt both Tenn and UGA recruiting there. Conversely, it will give the new member more clout to recruit around metro ATL where Tenn recruits heavily, already with plenty of competition from UGA and AU. Tennessee doesn't need this. Mizzou is currently no threat to you. It's an easy conference win for Tennessee every year, and you need as many as you can get.

Too bad you don't get a vote. Our putrid football team has had more success in our short time here than you ever have.

Florida Fans...

If UGA and Tenn and Gamecock lose recruiting foothold on the Carolinas because Mizzou is replaced by UNC or Clemson, guess where UGA, Tenn, and Gamecock are going to go to supplement their classes?

The Sunshine State.

It's hard enough competing with Miami, FSU, and UGA who already have a strong recruiting presence there.

Replacing Mizzou with Clemson or UNC is going to be bad news for the Gators.

You should vote No.

Auburn... Ole Miss....

You need to read this.

All those metro ATL recruits that you've relied on for years are going to dry up if you vote to replace Mizzou with Clemson or UNC.

You are already competing with UGA, Tenn, USC, Bama, and each other for the recruits in this area. And with Paul Johnson getting fired soon from Georgia Tech, there's a chance his replacement could bring some new and much needed excitement for that program, and further hurt your recruiting efforts there.

The last thing you need is another SEC school all hyped up and shiny and new, just raping through Gwinnett County.

You should vote No on getting rid of Mizzou, unless you have some assurance that your program won't be unfairly impacted by whatever the alternative is going to be.

LSU and Bama... please hear my plea.

A strong SEC makes for a stronger LSU and a stronger Bama.

Replacing Mizzou with another Carolina school might seem like it makes the conference stronger on paper, but it will actually dilute the recruiting pool in the East, and weaken our conference as a whole.

It already hurts your reputations that the East sucks so bad. Please understand that adding Clemson or UNC to the SEC is going to dilute the East even more. It's just not good for anyone.

Now, there's nothing wrong with getting rid of Mizzou.... but we need to know who the replacement will be, and insure that replacement isn't going to hurt us all in the long run.

Please vote No for getting rid of Mizzou, until a comprehensive plan is in place and we know who the replacement will be.

We just need to get all the facts on the table.

Lets not do one of these Obamacare "We have to vote on it to see what's in it" things from Pelosi.

Let's do this right.

Vote No.
