Delusion? Look in the mirror.

Weren't there other Bama fans there egging him on? Apparently there were a bunch of Bama fans that thought it was a good thing to do.

How can the punishment be too harsh?

Many people accept plea deals that are wrong. He had no choice when up against the political force of a corrupt and political New Orleans legal system.

Doubtful he even read the article.

A jumbled-up din of laughter and cheers and chants of "Roll Tide."

This was not the actions of one man. It was a pack of animals and only one was held accountable.

Disgusting.

Absolutely, stunningly, delusional. He broke the law. He took a plea deal because he knew he would be convicted. End of story.

quote:

"I don't want you to say anything to me about the incident," Russell County (Ala.) Sheriff Heath Taylor tells his cousin Brian. "I don't want to get involved," he says, and Downing nods. First the tree poisoner and now the tea bagger. Truly, it tore Sheriff Taylor up. His own cousin had shamed the good name of Alabama fans. Taylor was actually at the Superdome in New Orleans, watching the Tide roll. The minute he saw the video, he called Brian's father, telling them both to come to the police station.

Taylor advises Brian to hit the road for New Orleans and turn himself in. There's still no outstanding warrant. It's a six-hour drive for him and Andrea. Brian's father comes along for moral support.

What form of corruption did the New Orleans legal system demonstrate here? What are you talking about, and if this had been in Birmingham and involving a bunch of LSU fans, and one of them tea bagging an Alabama kid passed out at a local eatery, and the sentence passed down in like manner, how would you honestly have reacted to that, and don't answer. Just think about it.

What about the New Orealians who worked there and let it happen?

Hindsight is always 20/20. Bama fans on this board have said it was a horrible thing to do. Human nature (LSU fans are not immune) cause people to cheer something like that in the act. If you think there would not be some drunk LSU fans cheering the same way then your are delusional.

Again the issue here is the penalty for the crime. It was politically motivated to get votes and relieve the butt hurt.

Scum. As. Well.

Have you seen the video? Only one worker is identified as having seen the incident. The victim is surrounded by a pack of Bama fans. And only one (Ellen Cassin) remotely makes an attempt to protect him.

Putrid. And even more putrid that anyone would attempt to defend this.

Complicit in my estimation, if not legally, then without question immorally.

Truth is, if they were held to some degree of guilt publicly then a much more important message would have been sent, and one that would perhaps stop things like this from happening in the future.

Justice was served to the perpetrator and anyone arguing the severity is the delusional one.

This.

He pled guilty on an obscenity charge when he could have gone to prison for eight ten years on sexual assault and been a registered sex offender. He needs to be thankful his attorney was able to get the NO DA to accept the plea deal. Punk would have gotten slammed in a courtroom.

It's amazing people don't see the problem with this.

Truer words were never spoken. But, as expected, you just do not realize it.

Wear that script "A" proudly Bama fan.

32 year old man humps 18 year old kid in face with his nuts, thus sexual assault on a minor. What are you having difficulty with Imjustafatkid?

Read just this page and you will see two Bama fans minimizing if not defending his actions.

This did not involve just one person. A human being was publicly degraded while a pack of animals stood around and encouraged it to happen. All because of a victory in a college football game.

There is no defending or minimizing it.

Where is the outrage over a 14 year old child being filmed by an adult having sex with her? The hypocrisy of some you is repulsive.

You want an honest answer? I'd say throw the passed-out Bama fan in the drunk tank for public intoxication, and give the LSU tea bagger a court date for lewd behavior. AND I wouldn't go apeshit because a Bama fan got teabagged. The world is full of dumbasses for whom I'm not responsible.

You want to know what I found fascinating about that whole incident? About the same time Downing was lowering the scrotum, five miles away a guy was shot in the head and turned into a crispy critter when his car set ablaze. I don't remember any outrage over that though.
