If you actually believe we won't fire him if he doesn't get above 8 wins in the next two years then I don't know what to tell you.
Sometimes it's tough to tell if they actually believe the words they're typing or just trolling. Hopefully, it's the latter.

Bielema needs to win 8 this season. The depth and schedule is there to do it. Nobody will think anything of it if we win 7. Grumblings will begin and expectations will be high in two seasons if we win 6. Kicking game could decides Bielema's fate. It's gonna be shaky.

Well, he was hired here with a 5 year plan. These were conditions upon his hiring. So I would assume that as long as he continues to have his goal in sight (improving each year until he has built a conference title contender in year 5), I would say he is fine.
He won't feel hot water until NEXT year, and only then if he doesn't have his team within striking distance of a conference title.
In order to be placed on the hot seat before then, the team would have to take a noticable step BACKWARDS from where they finished last season. So really and honestly, as long as he makes a bowl game this year he will still be okay from an administrative standpoint, but the natives would get very restless with only 6 regular season wins. Anything below 6 wins this season and I think Long will start interviewing potential replacements. Anything below say, 5 wins, and there would be tremendous pressure for Long to fire him.
None of that is going to happen though. Bielema will continue to build on the success he has achieved so far. Arkansas lost some good players, but the staff is happy with the depth they have built, and they have a lot of studs ready to step up this season. I personally expect to see at least 9 regular season wins this season, and wouldn't be a bit surprised to see 10. I'd still be happy with 8.

I think Bielema gets brownie points for running a relatively drama free program so far.
With both his coordinators back, hopefully he'll have a better start this year. He really needs to beat a&m.

Who could Arkansas realistically sign that would be better?

Surprised he's not already on the hot seat. Is that fair?

The last time we had an opening, LSU's coach was begging Long for the job, but you said "that would be better" so the point is moot.
So pretty much anyone except Saban who is at his last job before retirement.

Do you realize that the last two times Arkansas has had a job opening, Jeff Long hired a guy away from a head coaching gig in the NFL mid-season, and then hired a guy away from the Big10 who had won three consecutive conference titles?
The answer is that Arkansas can hire just about anyone they want. Jeff Long has proven that.

I know, Auburn would resort to hiring a coach with a losing record or a coach with one year of HC experience who couldn't even get an interview at Arkansas as he requested.
Auburn wouldn't do these things.
It is humorous that the man who did better at ISU than the guy worthy of being Auburn's HC is just good enough to be a position coach at Arkansas.

What's amazing is the last 3 head coaches for Auburn have all managed to win an SEC Championship. Meanwhile, Arkansas has been to the SEC Championship 3 times while getting their arse handed to them every time. Bret Bielema hasn't even sniffed an appearance.

Pretty much how Arkansas wouldn't do things like win the SEC, play for the NC, etc.
I love how the Arkansas fans immediately deflect to attacking Auburn. What exactly does Auburn have to do with the OP?

Only Auburn fans are trying to dispute fact.
Its hard for a program below us to look down on us...
You and Aggy can fight it out over your hog envy.

I thought you were a reasonable poster...I was wrong.
And you may want to go back through this thread and note the other fan bases that are present in the discussion.
