Thanks for the info. Bow hunting seems badass. I can imagine how I'd feel after shooting a deer. I can't even guess what it's like to kill an animal that big with an arrow. I'm assuming it's a rush
I've hunted with a recurve since I was about 14, it's more so the rush of constant practice for it to finally pay off. Not really the killing part.

Nope- there's only one thing that will make a whitetail buck a little stupid- and it's the same thing that makes most of us guys stupid. In deer form, of course.
It really is amazing to see an old sway-back that is only seen at night go full retard once that split tail flips her flag up.

The last time I went deer hunting I just sat in the blind and smoked bowls. Didnt see anything all day.

Rant rules, if it has happened once then it is destined to always happen because nothing ever changes and we all live in ceteris paribus world.

Yes indeed. Worth dying for, in many cases.

Well, if you put the work in (practice, scent elimination, and stealth to the stand) and you do connect on a deer with stick and string...
even a doe feels like shooting a wall-hanger.

I always preferred shooting doe to bucks. Doe populations are usually the ones more susceptible to being out of control (disease). Plus the meat is always better

Why be ashamed of your animal instincts.

Outwitting a deer isn't easy- not matter what fancy weapon you are holding. They are survivors armed with some of the best natural defenses known in the animal kingdom.
Yeah but all you have to do is put some corn in a feeder for a while and beat it out there one morning. At least in Texas.
