So we only averaged 3.82 ypc against Texas? Hmm.. I would have guessed much higher, but it didn't keep us from winning 31-7.

Just double check from another source, but holding Texas to 59 yards total offense will do that, along with the turnovers

not really an excuse, other teams do this as well

Take away the 3 times that Brandon Allen erotically kneeled for -6 yards and the avg. goes up to 4.06.

Arkansas has the easiest to remember fwiw

see this posted on here regularly and wonder where it comes from. In conference games last year, they were 9th in rushing and averaged less than 4ypc.

They had a very good defense and effectively ran the clock. Ole Miss went -6 in turnovers in our 30-0 loss. Their running game was held in check. We actually out gained them even though Bo Wallace was injured and knocked out of the game.

We will attempt to be more balanced with the new WR's coming on board.

This was a problem last year for our offense, not able to take advantage of a team loading up.

Arkansas's offense was not clicking in a lot of games where balance would have won more games. We should be more balanced this year, we have work to do of course . Just like 90% of the teams in the SEC.

Yea, you're right, but Collins and Jwill averaged over 4.5 ypc. Allen's numbers bring us down and he took 3 knees for losses to end the game. I'm sure the game being over early has a lot to do with it all.

The November games were @MSU, LSU, Ole Miss and @Mizzou. As bad as our numbers were, those teams only averaged 2.6 ypc combined against us. Several of those games were in cold, rainy weather and that played a part. All were ranked teams and we averaged a higher ypc then every one of them in the head-to-head matchups. I'll take that every time.

No they don't. Who else played the SEC-W slate and the best 2 teams from the East? Auburn played Georgia, but then got SC. That's probably the closest, but it's not the same.

200/200 is the goal for our offense. Not running up rushing numbers.

We averaged more on the ground and through the air, so I wouldn't say Ole Miss held anything in check. The scoreboard reflects that very well.

come on, so you are saying playing mizzou changed the stats that much. Like I said its not an excuse or at least shouldnt be used as one

Doesnt cold rain weather usually lead to more rushing

I said it was part of the reason. Missouri had the 27th best rushing defense in the nation last year, while South Carolina's was the 105th. You don't see how that can make a difference?

Not for a team that does it anyway. Do you perform better in the cold and rain?

I'm pretty convinced that some dude in mom's basement in Washington Missouri knows a lot more about football than Vegas, Coaches poll voters and anyone else that thinks Arkansas should improve.

Based upon his stellar analysis, I'm of the opinion that the hogs won't win a game this year...other than the Missouri game, which I am willing to enteratin wager offers on with the aforementioned genius.

Note: I expect that offer to be met with crickets.

ypc is a misleading stat. Example: Team A gets a 16yd rushing play, then goes three and out for no gain. Team B runs the ball for 4 yards 4 times. Both teams have 4 ypc. A lot of passing teams are more like Team A-- they break a few long ones but also get stuffed frequently.

Obviously Team B is better. Arkansas runs the ball much more like team B-- a steady, efficient attack that rarely gets stuffed for no gain.

Only a "genius" would try and entertain wagers on an anonymous sports message board.

Even better than crickets. Wimpy and weak deflection.

Wimpy and weak is 4 SEC wins in three years.

Not engaging in wagers on an anonymous internet message board is solid and sound reasoning and logic.
