I see this posted on here regularly and wonder where it comes from. In conference games last year, they were 9th in rushing and averaged less than 4ypc.

I simply don't buy the Arkansas hype this year. They have a game manager at QB, lack weapons on the outside, and lost all of their best players on defense.

Someone tell me why this team is getting serious talk from some folks of winning the West? Looks like a 6 win team

Thanks for inviting their posters to start more shitty threads about themselves.

Almost all their losses before beating LSU were tough close losses. They could have very well been 6-2

Yea.

As odd as it sounds, Arkansas was a blown 4th qtr lead, a fumble out of the end zone, and a late int away from possibly winning ten games last season.

Only won seven, and that's all that matters.

Does this include sacks, though? if it does, its still the same comparison to other teams, but could also skew the stats

We took a lot of knees so it brought down our average.

Is that supposed to be a negative?

I understand why you assume that, but you and a lot of other people are going to be surprised by how good our skill players are this year.

True, but we return some talent as well.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think Arkansas will be a force this year. Huge line and a solid run scheme. If they can win the T.O.P. and rest their defense (assuming their defense is competent), they could do some damage.

Not to mention the fact that the West is a toss-up this year. Bama should be weaker and Auburn is a question mark in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the original powers only won 8 games, but wouldn't be surprised if they went undefeated either.

Quite the drop after going into October compared to other teams

Good because you probably couldn't afford it anyway unless you looted some businesses and sold stuff.

That's the thing though. Their run game simply wasn't that good last year. Ok, not great. Especially for a team that supposedly hangs their hats on running the ball.

They have the look of a team where a lot of people expect a huge jump forward, but it simply doesn't materialize.

Bert hangs his hat on balance on offense and being physical in the trenches.

200/200 is the goal for our offense. Not running up rushing numbers.

Quite the drop?

We faced our SEC West counterparts. Of course it will drop.

But look at the progression and momentum gain, shutting out LSU and OM. Then Spanking Texas.

Why would anyone doubt Collins or JWill? Two proven rushers. You going to doubt Chubb as well? Fournette? Tell me why Georgia and LSU won't benefit from those players?

UGA was #2 in rushing, and LSU #5

so did everyone else, thats why I showed the comparison. The rushing stats are highly skewed from 3 games in September

lets be honest here,, yes it was great that yall did well in these games, but its not that big of an accomplishment given the teams and the time

And now compare the run defenses UgA played along with Arkansas.

Arkansas faced one team in the lower 3rd of rush defenses in the league a season ago. But I'd imagine rational conversation with you is unrealistic. Seeing UGA faced 3/4 of the worst run defenses in league play.

Your obsession is truly impressive. You're constantly thinking about Arkansas, while nobody in Arkansas is thinking about Missouri.
