Keep an eye on that chart over the years. The future teachers are now at kennesaw.

Based on the responses above it looks like we have some work to do.

Considering y'all seem to think an Athens degree is equivalent to an ivy league degree leading a fortune 500 company,
When did this happen?

Is the hope scholarship still around. Seemed to remember reading it made uga tough to get into?
Yes, it is. It's a bit tougher to keep, now and doesn't pay for as much, but it is around. Helped both my daughter and son.

Ive only been to Athens a few times and I didn’t meet one bad or obnoxious fan. Athens is far and away my favorite away trip.
Always good to hear, but as pointed out, there bad fans in every base. Here's hoping you are able to avoid ours.

Says the cat from a school that has never beaten UGA and got shut out on its own playground when UGA went north.
Checks out

I have no desire to read this thread but iirc, OP basically said Kirby Smart = Saban yesterday

From a Michigan fan?
Dude. You think Harbaugh is the do all, end all in coaches. What has he done on the college level? He has never even won his own conference.

He called Smart the Saban of the East. Compared to the other coaches in the East, can you really argue with him?

Auburn has moved up in the world insofar as academics is concerned - at least for scholarship requirements (not familiar with simple entrance requirements)
I met a kid on the plane ride back from Chicago that went to the Notre Dame game - he was a freshman at Bama; but had grown up as a UGA fan (from Georgia) his whole life
he did not get in to GA, but was accepted to Bama (to be fair, schools tend to have looser standards for out of state students, since they can charge more in tuition - true for most schools)
If I wanted to rank the SEC just by academics:
1. Vandy
2. UF
3. UGA
3. aTm
5. MO
6. AU
7. AL
7. SC
7. TN
7. LSU
11. KY
12. AR
13. MS
13. MS St
yes - I have most of the schools "tied" up in the middle
Vandy is a clear #1 & Florida is a clear #2
Aggies & Dawgs can argue about #3 & both schools can make fair points
Auburn has gained the most ground in reputation in recent years & that is really good for the state of AL
my guess is that Bama will make some moves to improve & not allow AU to stay ahead of them long

To be fair, neither has Smart.

Yet even the twitter account of Stanford football claims the average Auburn grad makes more money. That is all the matters. More proof that Georgia fans are delusional more than anything else.
Delusional enough to claim all Auburn students are mutt rejects, yet only 10 percent of Auburn students come from the state of Georgia. Half those people are Auburn legacies.
Delusional enough to think they are a powerhouse in football despite not winning a national championship since the Jimmy Carter administration
Delusional enough to look down at Georgia Texh even though Tech is generally superior in both academics and athletics. Also has a more recent national championship in football
Wheeler, Sprayberry, or Walton? I know rejection hurts.

Spitting on opposing fans is trashy and vile, but not necessarily obnoxious. So I'm saying no

But your outliers, your sidewalkers, your Walmarks redneck fans, the ones on the lunatic fringe, are the worst, craziest, most obnoxious people in the SEC. Y'all have no more or no less than the rest of us, but yours are on a different level. Closest I ever got to fighting in my own stadium was with one of your finest in 2007 in Saban's first year. Bama was 3-0 and ranked and looked like we were gaining momentum when UGA came to town and won a close one 26-23 behind Matt Stafford. Y'all won the game and as we were exiting, this one UGA redneck mother fricker just would not shut up. Kept on and on running his mouth to every Bama fan anywhere within earshot, and I finally said "You won the game, you don't have to show your arse!" So he gets all up in my face and wants to start some shite
Dude. C'mon. You had this one drunk dipshit who wanted to start a fight with anyone that gave him a reason and he suddenly represents all of our "sidewalkers"? You know that isn't a fair assessment. I've seen this exact scenario play out with numerous teams' fans all over the SEC (well, save for Vandy and Kentucky). Sometimes in Sanford, other times at their place. The Tennessee game in '06? Geeez. Those bastards were out lookin' for it that night....but they were definitely the exception and not the rule. To your credit, when y'all beat us like a drum in '08, you were pretty cordial about it. I remember at the half I was in line to get some snacks at a concession stand and one of your fans, very level-headedly, commented to another Bama fan that it wasn't over (it was 31-0 at that point) and that Georgia could very easily make adjustments and turn this into a slug fest. And we did, though not enough. But, on the flip side, your fans are also more likely to get caught on video actually throwing punches in the stands. And that's during wins in the middle of championship seasons.
So again, we're not on an island in this thing. Everybody has their idiots.

Think about it. You are at a party or a tailgate and you go around asking people, people you don’t know “Am I obxixious, are people like me obnoxious”?
Bottom line!?? Yeah.
