Chaisson is the next in line big time de/lb for LSU.
Mingo - Key - Chaisson

You do know how skinny he would be and look at 6'6 215, right? Eric Monroe standing next to him. Monroe is 6' 200

Key came in at 215-220 as a freshman and Chaisson is much bigger than Key was.

His facial expression looks like he doesn't have much going on upstairs.

If we lose to BYU it won't be because of the defense.
Key likely won't play until the State game which is the right move. I don't want lingering issues all year like we had last year with Fournette.

The weights are dead on our roster. They take heights and weights when they check in officially before the start of fall practice. Heights will sometimes be exaggerated but whatever shows up on the scale thats what goes on the roster. Chaisson is all of 240 pounds at 6'3-6'4. Arden Key checked in at 6'5-6'6 231 as a freshman.

Shoulder surgery. Played through it last year, hoped it would heal on its own, it didn't, so he elected for surgery.

He played with a bum shoulder all of last season. It was in a big brace in the bowl game against Louisville. It was something the doctors said could heal naturally and maybe not require surgery so they decided to see if it would heal up on its own. It ended up not doing that so in late may/early june they opened it up and fixed it. That was announced in early june and initially said the healing process could be as long as the UF game, now they are saying it looks more like the MSU game, so he'd miss just BYU and Chattanooga.

Lots of scared in this thread. So much concern and butt-hurt over one of our young backups.
I mean, its not like we are talking about a QB here. LSU fans do have traction with calling out the next great defensive players.

No concern...you guys are just homering out over a guy that's never played a down of college ball that will not be a backup in the opening game. He looks like a beast, but that doesn't always translate to the field as a freshman

You mean quitting the team early when you can't win the Heisman and the season is in the toilet, skipping games, sitting out the bowl game to get ready for the NFL draft? I think maybe Key already has that particular "lingering issue."

Riveting, as usual. Completely wrong, but riveting.

I trust our coaches with a PROVEN track record of having freshman defensive talent be hot shite from day one.
We HAVE that history.
And for the record, we aren't homering. You are confused. We are simply saying we aint worried about Key not playing because the kid is good. Go watch film if you think we are full of it.
Secondly, and most importantly, its BYU.
Take a seat.
