No it isn't. Bonus income from your employer is taxed at the same rate as regular income. I'll take it in stride that you don't know the difference between withholding rules and actual real tax rates. You are probably one of those front line employees who is crying every year about how so much money was taken out of your $100 Christmas bonus, and yet not realizing that you got the money back when you actually filed your taxes.
Don't you hate it when you try to get in a snarky comment and tout your alleged superiority over a lowly "Bama fan" and end up looking like an idiot?

Someone needs to help pay for the players other than the boosters. I would imagine the payroll is getting pretty bulky.

He did the same thing when he was at LSU. He also donated to the LSU Academic Center for Athletes, which was being constructed at the time.
