He was Tebow before Tebow. He was also pretty good on the basketball team.

He was a beast and it's a shame he couldn't put together an NFL career at receiver.

If you are asking if I attended a miserable 7 OT game in the rain and went home with a L, yes.

I’m 29 but my dad was a big Razorback fan. I remember Jones well, one of my favorite Arkansas players of all time.

I was at the game in LR when the Miracle on Markham happened and Jones completed a Hail Mary TD to win over the Saban led LSU tigers and clinch the West

I will never understand how someone can cover so much ground while looking so slow.

I remember Matt Jones.

Even as an LSU fan I loved watching that guy play (just not against us)

His stride was so long that he looked like he was moving slow but he was burning everyone

That was always funny to me too. A guy I went to school with who played basketball ran kinda like that, like a medium gallop stride yet was always a few feet ahead of the rest of them.

Matt was a hottie and he played long enough ago that I don’t have to feel creepy saying that.

This. The king of deceptively fast. I seen it with my own eyes

Miracle on Markham
that nickname has always been so cringey. there was nothing "miraculous" about it, a la aub/uga or bluegrass miracle. it was just a good play. incidentally, there may not be many people old enough to remember that saban's lsu defenses occasionally collapsed at the end of a close game. it was his kryptonite. that game was one of them. there was no miracle

and i don't think there's many lsu fans who don't remember matt jones.

Didn't he end up having some sort of drug issue?

Yeah, I always liked watching Matt Jones, and later Ryan Mallett.

I remember him. He was really really good. Those clips brought back a lot memories of old school SEC football

I remember him mostly for 1 single play. The fumble at Tennessee when he
Wasn't touched. Similar to Tuas last
Season against LSU. His speed was very
Deceiving though.

His option keeper at 4:06 was amazing. shows his speed as good as any highlight.

edit: the dunk at 5:13 was his first collegiate basket.

Unfortunately I remember him all too well. He had big plays against Alabama.

I sat through an 1.5 hour storm delay before the 2003 Alabama-Arkansas game. Only to see it go to 2 OTs after Alabama blew a huge lead. And then Alabama loses in OT.

If you’re referring to THE fumble, that was Clint Stoerner.

Not certain Matt didn’t have one but...

Kid had all the talent in the world to be great. 11 cent head. Built to be a TE if he wanted.
