I've said all this elsewhere, but I'll say it again...There is much more that goes into being a Division One Head Football Coach, than preparing your team to play on Saturday. These guys make probably 100 decisions a day on things that have nothing to do with X's and O's.

Let's see, well, you gotta go over budgets with the AD. You gotta oversee coaches under you and make sure they're doing their jobs correctly (which is weird if this guy doesn't know how to do these things in the first place.) You gotta prepare transportation for your team. Plan out meals. Pick out hotels. Meet with media. Meet with boosters. Babysit 100 18 year olds. Oversee recruiting operations. ...

I could go on and on if I gave it some thought.

There is also the matter of in game coaching. Clock management, time outs, fake punt/field goal or not, etc.

I mean, just how much responsibility do LSU fans expect this guy to pass off to someone else? And at what point does having Ed O there at all make any sense if he isn't doing anything.

Do I think Ed O is gonna work out at LSU? HAHAHA. No, I don't. Why? Because he has been exceptionally bad at this in the past.

Last year, he wasn't the head coach. He was the interim. He wasn't responsible for things like telling the SaC coach what he wants each individual player to mold their bodies into over the summer to get to the point that of being the team they were when he took over.

And how has Bielema's "past" success worked out at Arkansas?

A HC that has no identity because he has no real expertise in running an offense or defense will have an offense and defense that's in flux every couple of years if he has coordinators looking to move on after making a name for themselves

Go look at John Harbaugh's resume and the success he has had despite considerable turnover at the coordinator positions.
