I don't define success as being one of 64.

How would you define success then?

2011-2012....wins over Wichita St., VCU, Purdue, Oklahoma St. And a trip to the tournament.

Again, the man has profoundly underachieved, lost to ridiculously bad teams every year, and needs to go, but there is no need to be disingenuous about his flashes of success while at Bama.

There is no defense for is time at Bama, but you sir have even less.

Sweet Sixteen or better, competitive every year. We've fired better coaches. Murray State can make the tournament. I certainly hope that our expectations are to be better than them.

Less what? That did not make sense. We can disagree without the BS. Or maybe you aren't capable.

The thing is, as bad as Alabama's record shows, they aren't just a down right terrible basketball team. It's not like they lose every game by 30 points. A motivated new coach bringing some excitement into the program would immediately improve Alabama leaps and bounds.

You have less defense for your argument. We agree that he needs to go, but I just don't see a need to make baseless claims that he's never done well at Bama or that this is rock bottom when other teams have shown what true suckage is during his tenure.

He will be given another year IMO. His buyout is around 5 million. Ridiculous. Our AD is not spending that kind of money unfortunately.

He doesn't deserve another year. I don't see how next year is going to be better with Releford gone.

I think that this team is playing just about as well as it is capable of. That's good to see but still far from what our expectations should be for a coach after this much time.

I can...silly me..releford does score but he does not make the others players better. He is not a true point guard. We got one coming in who may not be a better scorer but he will run the offense and get others involved.

Who's he gonna make better? Or, how could we tell? You've got a 7ft statue that can't catch a cold, a shooting guard who can't shoot, a small forward who won't shoot, and a utility guy that can go for 20 one night then can't hit the rim the next.

Argument? I'm giving my opinion of one of the weakest periods in Bama basketball. If you agree that he must go then what do I need to defend? That I think making the tournament once or twice is not good enough? Termination usually requires show cause and I would not need to defend in this case. I do not measure our suckage by the results of others.

they can't help but be better next year with what is coming in and the fact we only losing one player. The two freshmen this year will be starters next year and will be significantly better. The Coleman point guard is a true PG. the others will be roll players. I am not advocating keeping or letting AG go but this team will be better next year. And I don't think any of the current juniors will play a signifiant roll and will be roll type players only with the big Swede getting little minutes. 20,21, and 15 may not even be starters but will contribute good minutes off the bench.

and it would not surprise me if the Swede is no longer on the team. Big waste of being 7 feet. He will have been on campus 4 years and should have earned a degree. Move on and let someone else take up that scholarship

Grant is a good defensive coach

I have seen no evidence of this while at Bama. He gets his players to play hard on defense and his offense chews clock, those are the reasons that Bama usually allows few points. Schematically his defense is terrible, also his adjustments are beyond bad.

Someone gets it

No one has any clue as to how good the players next year will be. What in the world gives anyone any reason to think that Grant will have them playing any better than how the guys have played so far in his tenure?

I say he needs to go - cut ties soon - preferably the evening after his final game.

Mark Gottfried had Bama rolling pretty good..did he miss post season play only once while there? Maybe was going to miss a second year and got fired during the season? What else went down to get him blown out?

He missed the postseason multiple times and kept going down on sorority girls instead of his wife.
