Notre Dame year after year plays one less game than most other teams and definitely does not run the gauntlet an SEC team does.

Literally only LSU fans think they are bullshite. Step out of your bubble.

Present vs future. In 20-30 years they will be put in the category of "technically yes but" that half of Alabamas past titles are in currently

Back to the original thread Iron Bowl II would be bullshite when there is a deserving Sparty team deserving Okie state team who would both have a better overall resume, as well as IMO the loser of the SEC CG who would have actually won something of note whereas bama has yet to do so this season.

Itd also be complete bullshite that the SEC CG loser who has 1 loss currently would get punished for winning their division but bama who gets a bye gets rewarded for not winning their division.

I might agree this factual but the fact is that the loser of the SECCG either AU or Mizzou will two losses at that point so not sure how they would get punished.

ou know teams that won their divisions

And everyone on complaining about how OSU even with a win does not deserve to go but yet now you are claiming the SEC East was filled with great teams. No offense but I doubt Vandy, UK, UT, UF and maybe UGA would finish any better in the Big10.

Again, false. Because of the championship game that was actually played. You can't ignore that.

42-14 happened
21-0 happened

And it happened 100% because of what Bama did on the football field. Not because of the media or whatever.

How they get punished is they play in the same conference as Bama won the games when it mattered and because they did would get eliminated via being forced to play in a game that bama was ineligible to play in due to choking.

That is funny.

I guess the MAC winner should be in the talk as well now.

And regards to Sparty if the BCS moves them ahead of UA I have no issue with that but it will not happen but I could see Okie State jumping with a game left and I have no issue with it.

I'm not neutral on this, but I think I am reasonable.

It's no surprise Bama people want it and Auburn don't. That's always the case when a favorite loses. And it's very hard to beat a good team twice. I'll even grant that I think Bama would be more likely to win.

Beyond Auburn & Alabama people, I bet few would like to see this rematch. They play games to settle things. This got settled. This particular game was so memorable, it would be a shame to mess that up.

Of course, if by some miracle Auburn beats Mizzou and FSU and OSU both drop, an Iron Bowl national championship game would be amazing.

I disagree.

We gave Auburn their only loss of the season. I'd be honored to let them have a rematch with us.

I would go one more step and add the majority of the country does not want to see AU either in the game. I think AU deserves it but will only get there if FSU or OSU loses.

This will not happen ESPN and the media have to try their last chance to fix the natty for bama. Because if this was the committee bama would be ranked 6th behind Okla St because they are playing for their conf championship.

No doubt FSU and especially OSU have higher visibility. But FSU has a huge image problem, everybody pisses on the B1G, and Auburn is the temporary darling. I bet folks would love to see Auburn-OSU.

Now if OSU and FSU choke so should we.

Bama will get a BCS bowl, but they don't deserve to be in the title game discussion. If somehow both OSU and FSU both lose, then the BCSCG should be the SEC champ vs. either Okie State or Baylor, if one or both of them finish 11-1. Bama is done.

Not that powerful, but the Tallahassee PD might get some "irrefutable" evidence tomorrow morning...

I have no desire to see AU win the title... but damn what I wouldn't give for SOME SEC team beat the stuffing out of Meyer's OSU.
