I will never understand why Auburn underutilizes him so much. He is the most dominant force as a WR in college football, and he gets 3 catches? Even looking at last year when he ended up with 45 catches that he seemed to disappear at times. You have a once in a decade type talent at WR, use him. I don't think there is any reason why he shouldn't have 70+ receptions.

He should be used the way aTm used Mike Evans. He would be impossible to stop used that way. JJ is good enough to throw it up for grabs to Duke

I think you will see the run option with JJ showing some running ability open up as we roll along. The kid is more capable than many give him credit for. We shall see and I will accept I was wrong, but I strongly feel it will open up in later games. Maybe even vs LSU.
It can be ran to keep the defense honest, but not to get big plays. Depending on how they run it, it can be use to free up the FB on wheel routes.

I think MOST Auburn fans realized what we had in Nick, a runner who could throw it a mile. Nick was cool under pressure. Still struggled early in 2013.

As for JJ, I am taking a wait and see approach. I personally think everything he did is correctable. We will find out in Baton Rouge (Nick played bad in BR in 2013, two INT and zero TDs)

You are correct but I contend you will see some bigger runs and plays by Mr Johnson with his legs. Be patient Monty for the time cometh when all shall bow down before me and offer gifts.

It could be a situation where Gus felt they could win without going to him a lot. No need to put unneeded miles on the kid if you don't have to. They could be holding back for bigger games.

I was not happy about the slide watching it live but watching it again he was going to get hammered, had the guys about to hit him. I would rather him get down then to take the big hit in that situation. Now game on the line he better lower his shoulder and get the half yard

I think one of the coaches said the reason we didn't see much of Duke was that UL had him doubled up basically the whole game

Thats just stupid. Nobody saves a known stud WR. Its more realistic to suggest JJ and Duke dont have a good connection with each other. Timing issues or so on......

Like Johnson is afraid to throw it into double coverage...

Makes sense. I'm intrigued to see what LSU and Ole Miss's strategy will be. They both have the dbs to do the same, but at what cost is the question.

On the one he threw into triple coverage, I was like, "Brett Farve, is that you?"

Good point, wherever Gus says throw it, he throws it. Maybe Gus never ran a play with Duke as the first read to punish him for the offseason stuff. Gus knew if Duke wasnt the first read he would never get thrown the ball
