I would be very upset today if the Arky/AU hires were reversed.

Extremely impressed. I have always thought he was a damn good coach.

Bielema is a defensive coach. Was LBers coach at Iowa, co-DC at K State before moving over as Alvarez's DC at Wisconsin.

The offensive guru was Paul Chryst.

Ha I got you. Ignorant on my part. Still that smash mouth style offense he plays in the Big 10 will fit in and obviously the only way to win the SEC is defense.

I think it's a good hire, but it's a weird hire.

Monte Ball is to Bielema as Brett Favre is to Curly frickin' Hallman....or Newton is to Chizik. whichever

I could care less what kind of offense he runs. If he builds the defense in Arky the same way it was in Wisky, we 'bout to win some games.

It is a weird hire, but I think it is more weird because it is a shocking hire. I don't know, maybe someone saw this coming, but I sure as hell didn't expect this.

i think it was a great hire. waaaaaaaay better than the barntards. this likely means arkansas will be able to flip tenpenny from us, with wisconsisn's track record running the ball under belimia.

Thanks

His buyout is apparently $0 and we are only paying him $3.2.

So he will have PLENTY of cash for assistants. Hopefully he hires a good OC and most importantly a good DC.

This is priority #2 right now. Right after hiring some badass assistants with all the money we have left over.

here's the thing about recruiting. it's a lot easier to recruit when you can te;ll recruits i went to 3 rose bowls in a row.

Arky went big and it will pay off...they may make it to a bowl next year. Of course when he realizes what SEC fans are like...he may run for his life.

Not to mention Arkansas has to do a decent bit of out of state recruiting anyway. He has some connections up north from being at Wisconsin. I think Arkansas can pull a few solid recruits from up north and grab a lot of talent from the south.

He got 11 players from Florida to go to fricking Wisconsin. I think he'll find it a lot easier to get kids from Florida/Tejas to play at Arkansas.

Eh, there are 5-10 stud RBs that come out of Texas every year; they aren't nearly as rare as 250lb qbs with 4.4 speed and NFL arms. So if Bielema's success hinges upon his ability to get RB talent, then he'll be successful.

Agreed Drewbie. There is an overflow of talent from the South that sometimes leaks to schools like USC and others. No reason to think Bielemia can't get some talent from out here.

At least some of the LSU fans on the SEC rant are rational. Try saying Bielema will be a good coach on the Tiger Rant and you could swear I said lets all rip Arkansas' hire.
