POTENTIALLY

I think he is a quality coach. We will have to see how the recruiting is.

And, this is the "big boy" league. I'm not saying he CAN'T do it. I am saying he very well may....but, it is not a certainty.

I have no ill will for Arky, so I wish him / them well (other than v LSU)

but I say they need a coach like Miles and Saban if they actually want to win.

Miles and Saban would not be winning nearly as much if they tried to run their systems with Arkansas' talent.

I love all the permutations of his name. Wonder how long it will take before people get it right.

I am a die hard LSU fan, but I am a realistic one. It gets taken as negativity, but I really do know the full landscape of college football. And I thought Arkansas should have been the hire Arkansas made last off-season. I thought a great defensive mind could have made Arkansas an instant contender. All in all I think this could be a better hire.

He's a decent hire, Arkansas will be competitive at least. Can't envision him winning the SEC or anything though. He's not as good as Petrino.

I think that is completely false. Neither would have near the success, but they are still among the best coaches in the country for a reason.

I love how people drinking the kool-aid think this is a valid argument. Petrino got Arkansas into a BCS game with an SEC schedule, beating LSU along the way. BB is going to his 3rd Rose Bowl with a 7-5 record with a B1G schedule. Sorry I'm not impressed.

12-1
9-4
7-6
10-3
11-2
11-3
8-5

Guess we should have hired Saban or Miles. So sorry to disappoint.

Those 5 losses were by a combined 19 points (Bama beat us by 52 this year). He lost 3 OT games this year.

If I was Arkansas fans I would be excited. His record may not be flashy on paper, but I have watched enough of this guys games to know he knows what he is doing. The coaching staffs in the SEC are proving to be head and shoulders above the country with the hires of Smart and Belimia (someone called me out for spelling, but no clue how it's spelled).

Not it at all. But there were other coaches that would have been better fits for us. Especially on the recruiting trail.

I admittedly don't know much about him. But, just this afternoon, looking as his recruiting rankings to success ratio, I think he is a solid hire.

I also realize how I never, ever watch Big 10 football.

The national media seems shocked, and seems to think we did really well.

Its so weird not having everybody in the media tell us our coach is a frickwad. So strange....
