Which is what I've stated earlier. I never said he COULDN'T throw, what I stated was, would it be ENOUGH for him win the heisman.
He'd have to complete at least 10%-15% more of his passes next year with at least 2,500 yards passing IMO. AU probably had as many dropped balls as missed passes by Marshall. Hopefully DW will help bring that number down.

No, I meant all, but only stated Mason because 4-7 games isn't enough to get a good look at backups imo. Auburn has decent recievers, but can Marshall get it to them enough is the question. We all know what Mason was capable of, and with him gone, the run game obviously takes a step back. Gus won't run something that doesn't work so someone's gonna have to step up.

or just didnt even make a move on the ball. very frustrating. Wasnt Coates catchable ball/reception ratio like 60%?

I'm really looking forward to seeing DQ finally play big boy football.

They have my favorite RB recruit from 2013 that redshirted that's going to be great for them.

Win it with his arm? 100% no. Can he pass enough that his combined yardage gets him some consideration? Very likely.

all those dropped passes really killed. But who steps up at receiver besides Quille?

Right around there. I'd compare Coates to a penny stock .
It will be interesting to see how much he can improve. Even if he gets that number up to the 75% range, having DW on the opposite side of the field will make the opposing team's safety situation interesting. Either one should have an abundance of 1 on 1 situations for a vertical pass. I can't remember the last time AU had two legit vertical threats.

We're hoping Coates can become consistent. Even if he doesn't, he will probably still have the ability to keep the D off balance. I believe he finished top-5 in YPC, so he'll still be a threat on the outside. It'll be interesting.

Coates is already a very good SEC receiver, he just could be an elite one if he made the effort. Either way, we plenty of receivers, I think the question is whether Coates/Quille/whoever are strong enough to make Gus shift the offense toward them, and whether Marshall takes enough of a step forward to allow that to happen.

Really? Names?
Peyton Barber
Roc Thomas
All 3 have the talent to put up numbers similar to what Mason did in this offense.
That doesn't even include the speed sweep guys like Corey Grant and Rudy Ford.

Auburn still returns 3 players who had over 600 yards rushing last year. Nick Marshall had over eleven hundred yards rushing. Cameron Artis Payne and Corey Grant are actual running backs who both had over 600 yards rushing last year.
That doesn't even count Micheal Ford (4 star recruit), Peyton Barber (the coaches apparently love him), and Roc Thomas (5 star recruit)

If he does step up and get his numbers up, hell we'll have a whole ball game. Now you can't load the box since you have legit receiving corps with experience. Damn Auburn, I ain't know y'all had it like that

I hope he wins the Heisman for the sole reason of hearing his acceptance speech. The kid is more illiterate than Winston which is tough

You don't want none of this shite Dewey

Let's see:
Another year in thesystem with the same OC/head coach? Check
A full year of experience as an SEC starter? Check
An upgraded receiver corps to counterbalance losses in the run game? Check
Nick Marshall is as legit a Heisman candidate as anyone else in the SEC at this point. I'm not sure why everyone is trying to paint him as a stiff. Barring injuries why wouldn't AU fans be excited about having him at QB?
