Alabama d is loaded. Very small drop off if any. I think we will have more of a drop off then bama.

Claiborne, brooks, Taylor, brockers, baker will sting.

Our dime will definitely not be as good. Why I am worried about arky.

Reid is the only proven safety and Simon and mathieu the only proven cb.

This.

But, that 2010 defense actually led the SEC, and was in the top 3 in every passing defense category, including having lowest completion percentage. It's just that they had some busts and they came at some very inopportune times.

I expect this defense to be better, but if it's not, at least try to screw up when it doesn't matter as much.

I appreciate unbiased honesty as much as the next guy...but this is not going to end well. This is the SECR man! Homers only

As Teague said, the 2010 secondary was good overall just had inoppurtune busts in several games that cost us. 2012 is similar to 2010 in that we are replacing a lot of starters in the secondary, the difference is that we're replacing them with more experienced players than in 2010. Let's take a look at each position.

1st CB
'10: Dre - SO no starting experience
'12: Milliner - Junior 17 starts

2nd CB
'10: Milliner - Tr FR no experience
'12: Fulton - Junior no starting experience but 3rd year in the system

Nickel back
'10: Menzie - JUCO who didn't enroll until summer and was rehabbing achilies injury up to fall camp
'12: Belue - JUCO who enrolled in January and went through spring training

Safety
'10: Barron - JR, 2nd year starter
'12: Lester - Sr, 3rd year starter

Safety
'10: Lester - SO, no starting experience
'12: Sunseri - SO, no starting experience

Dime back:
'10: Lowery - SO, walk-on no starting experience
'12: Clinton-Dix - SO, no starting experience

When you add it all up the '12 squad has considerably more experience than the '10 squad particularly at the CB spots. Should result in fewer blown assignments.

BAMA and LSU return the same number of starters on defense. BAMA's defense will most likely rank in the top 5. The biggest strengths on the defense will be the DL and LBs. The weakness will be the CBs. However, Milliner is a 5star recruit that started every game in 2010 and 2011 and was very effective. The other CB is a top rated recruit coming out of Juco--saban feels like Travell Dixon or John Fulton can step in this season and be successful.

boy you are a butthurt aarse wipe..Bama played yall twice and held your offense to an average of 4.5 points and you were averaging 40 in the other games. Bama played Arky who had a high powered offense..You aint too bright, even if you are fishing

Nah, thank you, for coming out....If LSU hadn't played the offensive like of Oregon and West Virginia then we would "statically" crushed Bama.....Lol...Lemme guess, Penn State was the best team, besides LSU, that your team played...Lol...

Here we go............

I think we wil be harder to run on but there will be a drop off in zone coverage and possibly man. Minter will be better then baker by a good bit. No one on the roster can possibly be worse then hatcher and francious. Our dline will not be friendly and Reid is a beast in run support and coverage.

Stronger against the run but may give up more through the air especially in zone.

Sounds alot like what Bama fans are saying about our D. And we also return at least as much talent and experience on offense. The truth of the matter is that Bama and LSU are going to be VERY evenly matched again this year on both sides of the ball, despite the fact that many on this board and in the national media seem to have the perception that Bama lost all of it's talent and LSU returns much more. That just isn't true. Both lost about the same, and return the same. It will be another war, decided by 1-2 plays.

Yes, for 2010, he was still hurt. He played, but hadn't fully recovered. It wasn't until very late in the year until he was even close to 100%.

Right, but he was implying that he did not even play, as he confirmed a few posts above yours. No big deal

Agree 100% with tider04. LSU has an easier schedule than BAMA this year. Both teams will likely be undefeated going into Baton Rouge.

Saban can kiss my arse - I love depth charts. Especially when they are chock full of talented players.

Bama's D in '12 will be better than '10 simply because the replacements won't be as green as the '10 replacements.

I love the fact that even though we are going into Saban's 6th season at UA, he still to this day doesn't mind bringing in to JUCO players to shore up area's on the roster. These incoming JUCO's will be huge in the execution department, IMO.

Don’t take this the wrong way as this has absolutely nothing to do with the football team you choose to support, but right out of the gate you just have been totally out of your league this entire thread. From your failure to recognize obvious sarcasm, to your inability to understand subsequent posts, to your apparent sensitivity, to your painful teenie bopper lol’s and other cliché language, I just think you should sit this one out and live to fight another day.

OK, I laughed.

Robert Lester will be an SEC legend after this season. I know him, I coached him, I hate him for going to Bama

As good as 2010?

I think the defense will be a little better.
The difference between the 2010 and 2012 teams will
be the offense. 2010 offense was run the ball to open up the passing game. I think this year they will pass to open up the running game, also this should help when they get inside the red zone instead of being one dimensional and having to run it, so maybe more tds than field goals against good
defenses.
