Allen looks like a good quarterback - sometimes. If he has a good game, Bama will have to be complete on defense. (Not that they aren't, he's just a lot more experienced than the GA boys). I think it will be a good game if Hogs can keep from getting rattled like the Dawgs did.

Thanks for the link. Looks like it's gonna be strength vs strength in the run game.

My view of it is that you're not going to see the same running game we had last year. Of course J. Williams is out for the season so for the most part the running game is all on the shoulders of Alex Collins. And he can only get so many touches per game. While freshman Rawleigh Williams has come aboard and done well running at over four yards per carry it's not the same running game as last year. They do seem to get most of their yards up the middle just based on my eye test although they can make good gains on the corners as well.
If you look at the Tennessee game I think you'll see the game plan, although again just based on my eye test I thought we ran the ball more and more effectively than in the prior games. We will rely a lot more on the pass with play actions and that kind of thing. That's been the consistent MO all year, to the point where there has been criticism for not running the ball more. Part of this owes to not having the one-two punch in the running game we had last year but a lot of it is the new OC who wants to throw the ball a lot more. At times they've been effective doing that in spite of some injuries to key receivers. They'll throw on first down at times as well. I don't expect anything different on Saturday and fully expect a fairly balanced attack.
Defensively I thought Texas Tech worked us over pretty well in the passing game although they were a far different team than the one we played last year and of course A & M had success against us in the passing game. That's the D's weakness. The D stiffened after being manhandled pretty well early in last week's game and they've made some good stands but they've also been subject to being burned by the big play as well. Losing our key defensive players from last season to the draft has hurt us more than people thought originally and we've got to find some people to step up on the defensive side of the ball.
Edit: almost forgot to add our special teams play and place kicking leave much to be desired and overall are the weakest link regarding the team IMO.

Tech had a good game plan against us and stayed consistent. I thought we kept aTm in check for the most part and was gashed by 2 big plays...one should have been block in the back and the other was a blown assignment.
I think it will be a 10 point game...either way

Great thread so far
I think the game will be close for about 3 quarters than alabama pulls away.
Bama by 13.
Please dont injure us anymore.

That's how I see it although I think we end up losing by ten. While overall I like what we're doing offensively I've still got too many questions about the defense to think we'll get the win.

What happened to Hatcher? I see he's injured but is is something he'll make it back from this season?

Broke foot...haven't heard much for this year but he still has a RS

Keon Hatcher, our leading wide receiver and the SEC's leading receiver this season prior to injury, injured his foot during the Toledo game and underwent surgery. On his Twitterfeed he said the surgery went fine and he expects to be back but I know after the injury it was projected he would be out at least six weeks--might be back by the end of October. Of course he's a Senior and I don't know that he'll be back.

Allen can be a very solid QB with the right game plan and as long as the OC remembers that Allen just does not handle crunch time particularly well. We will need him to play solid for three quarters and hope that we can take the game as much out of his hands as possible come the 4th.
Unfortunately this depends on the Hogs not getting rattled and BDS is not exactly the most relaxed road environment to play in.

If Coker comes out on fire or we hit some big run plays early, the crowd should have it rocking pretty good.
I'm looking forward to this game, nothing beats smashmouth football, imo.

Kind of a mediocre game. I mean 2 mediocre teams with a combined record of only 6-4

Any Bama fans wanna give some traffic and parking tips? We're flying into Bessemer airport...room is in Hoover...driving over to walk the campus and enjoy the game, but clueless as to where to park.

If you have $10-$20 in your pocket, you can park at the soccer fields I believe. Also, avoid McFarland if you can. Most congested highway. I'm guessing you'll be on I-20/59, so try to take exit 79(Cottondale exit) if it's open (I'm not sure if anything is going on there due to road construction on I-20/I-59. If you are able to hit the Cottondale exit, keep going straight until you see Winn Dixie. You can either keep going straight through Alberta City and then turn on 25th avenue, which will take you to Kack Warner, then to Campus Dr. If you don't want to do that, then you can take a left at Winn Dixie, keep straight on 15th street and then take a right once you hit McFarland. From there you can hit University Blvd. I don't know how bad the traffic is going to be on 15th street though.
If they weren't building a new bridge on University in Alberta, you could just keep going straight once you hit the Cottondale exit, but that old arse thing had to come down.

Season Stat of interest:
Arkansas has more passing yards than bama
Arkansas has more rushing yards than bama
Bama has scored 52 more points so far this season than Arkansas.
Our red zone execution has been pretty bad so far.
Got a little better last week but we still weren't able to get any points out of our last three full possessions when we needed to extend the lead to two scores.
For two years our offense has consistently frozen up in the 4th quarter of close games putting the responsibility of winning the game on the defense.
