How concerned are you guys about having to replace your starting place kicker, senior punter, and Arenas?

Aren't the new K and P both freshman or walk-ons?

I understand Richardson/Maze/Dre etc.. can step into the return man role and do well, but Arenas was a special guy when it came to running back kicks..

Kicker: Cade Foster = me not worried
Punter: Jay Williams (and possibly Sam B) = not worried

KR/PR: Between TRich, JJ, and Dre, and CGrant, this could turn out to be okay. Not sure if any of them can manage what Javy did, but hopefully between the four of them we can get some consistent production on returns. A bit worried.

i have no reservations about replacing Tiffin. Fitzgerald yes. I believe they will put JJ on punt returns which I hate because I dont like sticking starters in a position where they are likely to get hurt which is why I question some of the LSU fans that want RS returning kicks and punts. Dont abuse your weapons. JJ does a good job at ball security s that will be one problem with a new punt returner instead of one with some experience is ball security I imagine it is difficult to concentrate on the ball with 11 guys bearing down on you at full speed.

If CG can field a punt I would rather him than JJ and TR I dont want to lose those two to injury on special teams.

CG? I assume you are talking about Corey Grant? You gotta spell it out if they arent really that well known.

I'm more concerned with tackling than kicking and receiving.

okay, we get it, you're not worried. now how about some football info as to why you think two inexperienced young guys in key special teams positions will be just as good as the veteran guys you just lost.

I dont really know too much about Jay Williams, but Cade is supposed to be the real deal. Dude has linebacker size, and can kick the ball a mile apparently.

I had not gone into great detail about Foster but he is replacing Tiffin I dont think that needs any explanation. He is very inconsistant and just to prove it he misses his fourth pat on the final kick of what what his final play in cfb in the NC game. he missed five kicks against Ark that would have won the game for Bama 4 yrs ago. I said I was worried about losing Fitzgerald he was great and although we didnt use him a lot this past yr when he did punt he was great. he had a good leg and was instrumental in helping our defense out. He also made that tackle on James in the seccg that stopped a td that would have given Fla momentum and put them back into the game.

agreed Fitzgerald was a badass punter. he pinned lots of teams back last year.

I think Tiffin's performance this past year was somewhat of an anomaly.

PJ Fitzgerald was never a good punter.

His career average felt like it was 30-35 yards.

Tiffin was a very solid kicker, but he wasn't automatic and his long was around 52ish.. so above average but not "great", and he was bad on kickoffs.

Javy was a game changer he's the biggest hole we'll have.

Maybe not as true freshman but by their sophomore year our kicker and punter should perform as well or better than PJ and Tiffin.

The problem with Bama's special teams is we have a shitty ST coach. We'll be in the bottom 4 of most special team categories in the conference next year book it. We'll continue to have poor coverage, not block well, have dumb penalties and give up more onside kicks than anyone would predict.

Personally, I hope that with Bama's offensive personnel, we don't have to kick many field goals.

And it's not like Bama has been setting the world on fire the last couple of years when it comes to kickoffs ans punts.

What kind fricking idiot question is that? How concerned would you be?

Both the new kicker and punter were offered scholarships. The new returner will either be Marquis Maze or Core Grant (probably). Maybe Belue. Don't know for sure.

Stupid fricking question though, for sure.
