Did not warrant any action IMO

Beyond the penalty, I agree. But at the same time I have to respect Saban for this, reining it in before it gets worse.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that sitting out a quarter does not count as a suspension.

You don't know saban very well. He has let players play with no suspension after assaults and trying to run over people with their vehicle.

If bama was playing a decent team next week, would not be a suspension, period.

I agree. If you think it's an issue, bench him. If you don't (and I'm okay if you don't), then just ignore it. But suspending a week after the fact for a game that doesn't matter is fairly lame especially when you took no action when it actually happened.

It only seems lame because of the schedule. I very much doubt Saban watched replays at halftime. When he did watch replays, he decided to send a message. Seems like a weak message given the opponent, but I'm pretty sure Yeldon will get it.

Miles does this all the time for breaking team rules but doesn't publicize it.

You guys can figure it out yourself. We just had this discussion a few months ago and some dumbass called bullshite on it, then had to back down after I linked it from several places.

You guys should pay more attention to your coach. Maybe tough to do with your collective heads shoved up his arse though.

That's certainly possible, but I thought he handled the "beat the hell out of whitey" thing about as well as it could be handled.

I see this as a message to Yeldon, not some team penalty.

Rolo McClain. Went back and got buddies to beat a dude up then tried to hit him with a car.

Two days before a key MSU road game on Thurs night.

Rolo was out raising hell on a Tues, assaulted some dude, put him in the hospital, was later sued and settled with the guy. He was bama's best player and saban basically admitted how important he was to the team winning and so he wasn't going to discipline him with any suspension or anything.

We had this discussion already and I linked several articles and we also discussed that in 7 years or whatever saban has never suspended a starter for a conference game.
