It's the '41 Houlgate poll that's the lie. It was actually awarded to Minnesota at the time. Somehow after a period of time changed into Alabama as the winner

I make it simple by just counting titles since newspaper pollsters, that is AP and/or UPI, started counting them in 1936. So Alabama has 10, which is still more than anybody else.

That's news to me. IF that's true, it's even more reason to stop listing 1941.
There is a huge number of Bama fans, maybe even the majority, who would like to see us stop listing 41. It's ridiculous to claim it and just invites ridicule.
