No they didn't... go back and read through some of those pre-season prediction threads.
There is a big brave world outside of the Rant and Finebum. Why would pre-season predictions (by gumps no less) on a guy who's never started even matter? In his first SEC game Sims torched one of the best secondaries in the country. Why so melty?

He really pisses bama fans off in a major way... So I'll sit back and enjoy the show.

AJ was 36-3 as Alabama's starting QB and won 2 national titles.
You Gumps should cut him a break.

Where did the hatred of AJ and him being a terrible leader originate from? I've never heard of or seen any examples of this other than posted on this website. It's like one person posted it and everyone else reposts it as fact.

I don't hate AJ, but he has always been the way he is. See his chest tat for example. Can you point to any specific points where an floored you with his leadership abilities?
He led that comeback drive against LSU, and started crying. Which is not exactly showing great confidence and leadership IMO

AJ McCarron = Arrogant , self indulgent jeezus freak. His idea of "leadership" is pointing to the sky and crossing himself- implying that divine intervention is looking down on him... Whatever . Its weak . JMHO

I don't recall this ever happening.

The gumps were the ones saying we'd be fine with anyone lined up at QB. It was everyone else - especially LSU and Auburn fans - saying that we were in for an 8-5 type season.

No I don't have any examples of him being a good leader. Nor do I have any examples of him being a bad leader. Same as Blake. Hard to form an opinion of a person's leadership when you know very little about them.

Nah. I used to really get into following recruiting and had a Rivals and Scout accounts for years. But I got rid of em several years ago. Figured I'd just wait until signing day to read up on em.

I hate Alabama (well documented) and am not tremendously informed on their program, but this was the impression I got.

AJ was the most accomplished QB in Alabama history. No denying that but he was a weird dude. Chest tats, bow ties, the push off from Barrett Jones in the 2012 NC game, and all that BS talk in the lead up to the 2014 NFL draft tells you he's a little different from the rest of us. I really do think this team had plenty of leadership. That's not what the problem was. It was that OSU was a damn good team and you can't win it every year. I'm proud of them winning SEC #24. That's a BIG DEAL.

You mean two fan bases that are perpetually disgruntled by your teams success would say bad things about your future QB? Color me shocked.
