I know that Larry is just a troll and likes to get emotional responses to his dumbass posts, but AJM, while a good quarterback, was not a leader that many guys would follow during his college career, and his comments since leaving Tuscaloosa have been, well, wrong, 100% of the time.

Maybe AJ will replace Saban as coach - hell just give him any position as coach
pleeaasseeee....he would be the true dynasty killer

I'm enjoying the 180 that the Alabama posters have done concerning AJ.
I do agree that OP is a frickwad.

Personally, I never saw AJ as a leader. He loved his role as "THE starting qb at Alabama" too much.
Prime example is him getting in B Jones face at the end of the BCSCG. Jones was quick to put him in his place.

That and Kiffin shite the bed in his playcalling in tOSU game pretty bad. And Saban and Kirby's D were no where near as good as years prior. And the offensive line wasn't a dominant one. And the secondary had major flaws that could be exploited by good offenses. And the offense as a whole, despite having great RBs on the roster, consisted solely of Amari Cooper and Blake Sims ~90 percent of the time.
And reliance on moving Cooper around to exploit one on one mismatches against an opponents' defensive personnel was bound to fail against teams with more than one top athlete in its secondary. And having a full month to prepare a defense against moving Cooper around to create mismatches allows a well coached defense to adjust to the "Amari Strategy" thus allowing them to neutralize the advantage strategy provides during the regular season.
And, and, and....
There's far more to it than 'not having true leaders' on the team -- an explanation that just happens to flatter the person putting it out there with the implication being that he was that true leader and he (AJ) is no longer there to lead them.

AJ was right about this Alabama team. I thought it was bullshite when he said it and I still think it was bullshite. Blake Sims was 10x the leader that AJ was. Half the team hated AJ's guts. This team would absolutely go to war for Sims. The ONLY reason we were able to win 12 games this year was because we had leadership that the rest of the team respected. Without that - we lose 4 easily, IMO.
I agree with you. You would never have beaten Arkansas, for example, were it not for the leaders on your team who refused to give up. That was pure guts I thought, because you played very poorly yet still won.

OP look like an utter retard because the whole country saw this team do exactly what he said they couldn't do...
Outside of the South nobody gives a frick about UA football, at least not as much as you think they do.

I assumed that he was referring to the whole cfb spectating demographic of the U.S., and he is right. The general perception was that we had a starting QB who was bound to fail.
Ya fricking arse-hole.

Meh, that won us quite a few games this year. We scored 35 on OSU, and probably should have scored more without careless turnovers. I'd say that the strategy was an unquestionable success.

Maybe among the paranoid Tide fans. Most people thought with Cooper Sims would be fine (and he was). Nobody cares about Bama as much as Bama fans think they do.

Except against LSU, and Arkansas and auburn...
AJ led one great comeback drive and then he started crying

No they didn't... go back and read through some of those pre-season prediction threads.

We had threads claiminh Cooper was the most over rated receiver ever on this board, and so many about Sims being a terrible QB because of his spring game stats, fro. several fan bases.
Why are you just making shite up?

AJ was right about this Alabama team.
quote:
"I think one of the things that this team is lacking that hurts them the most is not having the true leaders like we had last year and guys that, when things go bad, 'hey, let's calm everybody down, pick it back up and go back to work and get back on the right track.’ I feel like when things go bad, this team struggles a little with bouncing back and making good plays."
Sorta like the "leadership" he displayed when he got into a hollering and shoving match with his own center during a game....
Of course, had bama beaten tOSU, they would be the greatest college team since The Big Bang - with oodles of 'leaders' and no apparent weaknesses..........
