A lot of these Aggie fans sound like JMs parents, blame the media, blame outside sources but just don't put the blame on Johnny himself. Serious question guys, when will y'all hold JM responsible for his own actions(unlike his parents)? You do realize people outside of College Station despise him because of his actions, don't you? I personally don't have anything but praise for Aggie Nation but as for JM, I cannot stand the little prick.

It's not. And they won't.

Cop out.

We became relevant when we moved to the SEC and started recruiting the top Texas talent. We have the ability to be relevant without JFF, without all the drama.

What specific actions, TIGER? I keep asking, and no one seems to want to explain.

Well, since I posted my thoughts repeatedly throughout this thread, I'm not sure how accurate a characterization "cop out" is. But I can live w it.

Yep, I like him and don't really care what other fan bases think of him. He does a lot of good things in the community too that people don't care to report about. Should he tone it down, probably, but I also think his attitude is a big part of what makes him great

Not according to the Aggie students that I know. They seem to think that he is somewhat of a douche.

This isn't a big deal FWIW. My son-a recent Arkansas grad- didn't know a single Arkansas student that didn't think the same thing about Ryan M, when he was our QB.

Right now, the A&M expectations are sky high. If JFF keeps meeting those expectations, they'll tolerate him. Once they lose a game, we'll hear lots of grumblings from their own school. Once they lose two games the wheels will fall off.

JFF has no margin for error.

My little brother knows him personally, and knew him before he was named A&M starting QB. He's a douche. Always has been. Not even a debate anymore, IMO.

One of my son's friends just graduated Summa from TAMU, is now in med school, and is one of the best kids I've ever known.

My M.D. friends from TAMU are without exception really great folks.

I respect TAMU for what it stands for, and I don't mind it if Aggie fans just admit they want to win games despite JM's shenanigans.

BUT, I'm surprised at how many of you are turning a blind eye to the fact that he isn't a good representative of the TAMU you love and revere so much.

You guys have always stood for something a bit refreshing and different IMO; a place where honor and good manners are demanded.

You are better than JM

So much on JFF is blown out of perspective it is hard to even begin. A lot of it is just the culture we live in now with Twitter and instant celebrity. There is no privacy and everyone has an opinion and the ability to express it far more than ever before. When you look at Johnny, Honey Badger, Tebow, or Cam you have guys that people either love or love to hate. The media almost forces you to take sides by reporting on them nonstop.

As for Johnny specifically I will take the package with the warts. He still has stayed out of trouble with the law since his minor incident a year and a half ago. He speaks very well to the media. Oh, and he has been amazing on the football field. He needs to learn not to take the bait as easily when people try to rile him up on Twitter or on the football field but that's easier said than done. He's a guy that plays and lives with attitude and doesn't put up with crap.

Is he a douche? I have no idea, don't know the guy personally. I learned long ago though that you will typically be disappointed in sports heroes when you meet them. They are just people though. I don't know what the world would think of me if I were in their shoes, I know I have my moments when I'm not proud of my behavior.

I don't think Johnny has done much in the way of "embarrassing" A&M though. All I know is ESPN talks both positively and negatively more about A&M than ever before. It goes a lot deeper than Johnny as well if for no other reason than they need to have a new story. That's a good thing. I also just can't get too worked up about Johnny responding to a couple of guys trash talking to him by pointing at the scoreboard after he just threw his 3rd TD pass in a little over a quarter of play.

I never minded Manziel too much despite all the negative press over the summer but the way he came in and acted on Saturday pretty much proves he really is a first class pos. I hope he beats Bama then is found ineligible never to be heard from again.
