I don't see how Texas AM fans can be in any way confident about next year with a new coach and a new system.

I mean, Texas AM has some talent, and Florida is down, but no way around it - Florida loses that game and it's an upset and a sign that Florida is heading for another 6-6 season with Ron Zook 2.0

I agree that A&M can't know how it will perform under a new system, and I agree that it would be an upset to beat FU based on the way things look right now. But don't the Gators have as many questions about the QB position right now when it comes to which sophomore to put under center?

I also think A&M will be unnaturally juiced up for the first SEC game ever behind a crowd that is going to be going absolutely ape shite because of it. What's more, FU has to be as at a loss about what A&M is going to do as A&M fans are. I think Michael and that OLine are going to make it an interesting game.

Like I said, I'm not guaranteeing a win. I think it plays close and is exciting, though.

I'm not worried about you guys being juiced up or not. This is the SEC. It's nothing new for our guys. At a loss about what aTm is going to do? I would think that our coaches will be reviewing what Sumlin did in the mighty and defenseless CUSA.

As for our QB, both were top 10 QBs. I'm confident that at least one will be ready to go. I'm more concerned about the offense learning a new system and being on the third offensive coordinator.

How many top 10 defenses did aTm face last year. I have no idea. They are going to face several this year for sure.

If our offense can just be average we will be vastly improved and our defense will be even better since they will get some damn rest.

FU? Ah, that's cute and original. You'd make a terrific Nole fan.

I don't think the crowd will play as a big a factor as you think. Florida has been playing in front of crazy road crowds for a long time in the SEC, I don't see that Kyle Field is going to be any more or less daunting than playing @ LSU, Auburn, Alabama, SC, UT, etc...

If Florida struggles with TAMU - even at kyle field - it'll be a long year in the SEC.

Showers has a better arm than Tannehill, so it'll be fun to watch.

And... Are you suggesting he is on the same level as Tannehill? We will find out soon against the SEC defenses.

I'm suggesting Tannehill got drafted on measurables, because he wasn't a gamer. And Showers throws a better deep ball than Tannehill, with just as good velocity and accuracy on all the other throws.

No way to tell what it all means until toe hits leather under the lights--but Showers has the physical tools to be a better QB than Tannehill.

Jerrod Johnson's physical tools were better than Tannehill's. Ryan started over Jerrod because the mental aspect was better. Now you're saying Tannehill's mental aspect wasn't there. My personal guess is Showers plays no better than Jerrod did in '09.

I like the UF fan's extreme confidence in this game.........

On their side - not sure what this is based on.......

Lotta unknowns on ours....

FWIW - I am scared as hell of LA Tech game..

Did not see anyone exhibit extreme confidence. I only checked the last two pages though.

I'm confident that our defense is good enough to take care of aTm and I'm not confident yet that our offense will be vastly improved from last year. It's a wait and see.
I'm not sure which thread you were reading to get extreme confidence from Gator fans.

It would be extremely disappointing to lose to aTm this year imo for many reasons.

I didn't know FU was derogatory. Big 12 moniker hold over I guess (OU, KU, NU, CU, etc). No offense intended.

You just can't sleep on those bastards in Ruston. They would have beaten half the teams in the SEC last year.

A&M and State will share a lot of mutual respect for the other. Too many similarities. Sherrill can actually tailgate and not have to worry about being attacked by some loco rival fan.

Auburn and Florida will beat your brains out. Mississippi State may do the same. Your SEC schedule is brutal, with the exceptions of Missouri and Ole Miss.

Muschamp is still a huge question mark, many still think he won't make the transformation to head coach. Most likely Sumlin >>>>>Muschamp

So Gator fans, you may have an edge on some talent but I wouldn't rule out Sumlin embarrassing Cletus and out coaching him on our home field.

I don't see a lot of confidence around here.. Most say we might hit .500. Hell, I am not sure we can beat La Tech. They should have won their bowl game to be honest. They gave that game away.

We've replaced almost all our coaches, ALL of our systems, and lost a bunch of key players.

On the other end of the equation is all the raw talent we do have... There is no denying how great our recruiting has been thanks to the move, and if Sumlin can take some of those young guys and produce from the start, we might steal a few games.

wishful thinking I know..

lulz at your homerism and hate for anything your big brother UTx.

If UTx had hired Sumlin you guys would have laughed your asses off and made fun of them incessantly. If you were ever honest with yourself you would agree.

Who cares what "many" think about Boom? I certainly don't. He'll either work out or he won't. He got himself another year or two with the Pease hire to see how that works out regardless.

You don't want Boom. I wouldn't want Sumlin. Sounds about right.

Cletus? Your obsession with all things UTx needs to be let go. Boom is a Gator not a member of the Flagship School of Texas' football staff.

Since I didnt mention our little brother once and you mentioned him 4 times, i would say that you seem to have a tu focus, not me. I just do't see any edge in FU's situation other that better raw talent. Your coach has done nothing to prove himself yet, this seems to really bother you, I have also never heard Him called coach "boom"? Seems a little strange. Cletus is a name he carries because of his hair, no other reason.
