New coaching staff
Rookie QB
Toughest division in CFB

Anything better than .500 would be a pleasant surprise for me.

Lay off the schedule. It's pretty effing hard to make a schedule in a month. Remember we had 9 conference games and Arky OOC and changed to 8 conference games and Arky one of those 8. We had a hard time fitting it together. We had to agree to play La Tech in Louisiana and bought out McNeese St to pick up S Car St

I dunno if I buy what the $Bill is selling on this one. I have heard that we had an FBS team lined up but the deal collapsed at the last second. I've also heard we were refusing to give a return game to most everyone which is silly to me considering we are probably going to be redoing Kyle in the next couple of years. 2014 would have been a perfect year to give a return trip with two games already set for DFW vs Arky and SMU.

Never mind that there were several FBS schools that also needed last minute games or that Mizzou was able to pick up Syracuse on Nov 17 when we play Sam Houston St.

We can't both play Syracuse. Not sure if you realize that.

And nobody knows (including Byrne) if we will be playing a year away from Kyle yet because it hasn't been decided. And we make about $3M/home game. You don't just give home games away.

But I suppose you could have scheduled better. I, for one, don't like that we have 2 FCS teams but win 7 games and it doesn't really matter does it?

Thanks for the condeceding response. No shite we cant both play them. Thats simply an example to show Bill is full of it when he said it was impossible to get an FBS team. People were saying we were going to end up with Sam Houston long before Mizzou took the Orangemen. Also, the excuse that we can't just give away a home game is horseshite. The only way we would be giving away $3 million is if we are going to build a completely new stadium on West campus. Otherwise the stadium is not going have the capacity to pull those numbers. Never mind that a game vs a team like Syracuse is a for sure ESPN game while the FCS games will be lucky to go further than PPV.

I agree...worst case 5-7(1-7) or... 6 - 6(2-6) most likely... if you go 7-5(3-5) CKS gets a few votes for SEC coach of the year..

Oh and BTW, Missouri is NOT giving Syracuse a return trip.

So yea, I think I could have done a better job b/c I think paying $800k for a likely FBS win that counts towards bowl eligibilty and would for sure be on TV is far more valuable than a dangerous game against one of the best FCS teams, that will be on PPV, on the tail end of a brutal road tour of Alabama and Mississippi.

Great. A game vs Syracuse would be on national TV and not online or PPV. The exposure is worth the price.

anything better is major accomplishment for coaching staff IMO...........

Well, Byrne's gone. That's our schedule. No use in bitching about it. I am fine with it. We are thin at DT and MLB. Positions that take a pounding. Might as well have an extra cupcake to heal up.

I'm a season ticket holder and am pleased with our home slate. And if you think we were going to only have 5 home games in a year you're crazy

We can't get a bowl at 6-6 b/c we play two FCS teams.

Well, unless you think we'll lose to one of them and still win 5 vs FBS squads.

It's gonna take 7 wins to be bowl eligible though.

6-6 doesn't get us a bowl. We have 2 FCS teams. Only one of those wins counts for bowl eligibility. We have to be 7-5 for a bowl.

Unless somehow we are 6-6 with a loss to Sam Houston or SCSU

6-6 (2-6) with wins vs Ole Miss and either Mizzou or UF. 7-5 if we can win both those toss up games or steal one on the road vs MSU or Auburn. I'd be very happy with 7-5.

This is true but I don't think A&M will do any worse than .500.
