Which is funny, because they wouldn't be doing away with it....since they would still see each other every so often in the rotation.

Ummm...no. The SEC will probably never do away with the Bama/UT game or the UGA/auburn game, nor should they. Both of those rivalry deserve to be played annually (and in conference play for those that keep saying that it should be played as an OOC game).
The member institutions have the power to institute this change. If enough of the SEC schools vote to get rid of permanent opponents, it will happen. And the likelihood becomes greater as more schools are added to the conference.

How did this UGA thread get to LSU and Alabama?

My initial debate in this topic was,
quote:
Bama will play the two last place teams from the east every year.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
kind of like LSU the past few years
I am sorry you are having a hard time with this. yall bitch and talk about conspiracies, yet gloss over the fact that there really isnt much of a difference, between the two over the years. IT's not Bama's fault about UT, nor do the conspire with the home office to put LSU down, and the part that does change on a yearly basis yall bitch and complain about despite the fact that LSU has benefited just as bama has

Because it went to the "bridge schedule" discussion.

B-b-b-b-but the schedule!!!
Posted on 4/9/13 at 1:07 pm to spslayto
In a few years, this won't matter anyways.
We will have 16 teams, 4 divisions, and everyone will have played everyone within 6 years.

How then do you propose to "toughen" up LSU's "easier" schedule ? Maybe somehow "manipulate" these bridge schedules ?...Yeah, that's the ticket..LMAO @ NYC
Where have I said they need to "toughen" up LSU's "easier" schedule ?
All I am saying is yalls helicopter theories seem to leave out little nuances such as facts and history. They seem to dwell more on speculation and very very short time frames to suit your argument

That's where you went wrong in the first place pal....LSU has virtually NEVER played the last 2 OR 3 teams from the SEC East....our perm. rival FL AND the rotating schedule prevented that ! Bama, on the other hand, has the fast falling Vols as a perm. AND gains from the SEC/Rec with BOTH bridge schedules NOT once but TWICE...simply check team SOS.....it's quite simple to see the disparity and how you can ignore it is beyond me !

The only real difference in the scheduled over the past 5 is UT and UF but those are permanent cross divisional games. Take those out of the equation and I bet its very equal. UT has not been strong at all over the last 5 while UF has only had 2 down years and were very good the others. Historically UT has been as good if not better than UF but not recently.
It seems like LSU fans "real" gripe is having to play UF every year.
Also, USC, has only become a good team in the last 2-3 years. They were hot shite prior.
Why do LSU fans only bitch about Bama's schedule compared to theirs?

There's only one person in this thread that has had to "leave out" things to advance their argument. Their user name begins with an "N" and ends with a "YCAuburn."

Good God, is there ANY topic that can be discussed without the damn whiney arse LSU fans bitching about their schedule and their fear of Georgia?

Because they are rivalry games, and that is one of the things that make the college game so special. Just because LSU doesn't have any rivals, doesn't mean that rivalry games aren't an important part of college football.

At least our fans aren't the ones out there committing felonies against others.

We bitch mainly because of the Bridge schedules...can you not see the difference between MO/KY and SC/GA ! With no assurance that the tide will face either w/in the near future !
Come on, you can't tell me there isn't something fishy here.
If, the SEC schedulers would say/admit....well the tides' had the easier schedule the past 2 years so we'll "even it up" in 2014 and beyond....but nooooooo such luck !

The Big 12 did it. If the SEC adds any more members, I don't know how it would be possible to maintain these games. Play 7 in your division and 1 permanent? You'd never play anybody else outside of those 8 teams other than the championship game.

In which case Bama/UT & UGA/auburn will still be played annually. They only scenario I see where those rivalry games are done away with annually is if the SEC goes to 16 teams, and they decide to split into 2 divisions instead of 4 pods.

4 divisions actually works out perfectly for permanent rivals. You have 3 permanent rivals that you play every year.
You play the 3 teams in your division, another division (that has one of your permanent rivals), then another team from each of the other divisions.
