ACC > SEC - Why Bama needs to join the ACC

A lot of good points here. I edited the title to expand the discussion a bit.
To flip the discussion I see a lot on this board, maybe Bama should join the ACC. The top football teams in the conference are better now than the SEC and it would generate interest in their basketball program. The baseball programs are also equally competitive as the SEC. They would also attract the high tuition paying out of state students all up the east coast.
With Bama leaving, the SEC could go ahead and commit to their western expansion and replace them with Oklahoma and more Texas schools.

Last year alone, the ACC went 10-4 overall against the SEC, 3-1 in in-state rivalry games and 4-1 in postseason games. There's simply more quality depth over there in terms of coaches and programs, which used to be the foundation of the SEC's self-confidence.

Alabama is the only SEC school to produce a Heisman winner and a national champion in the last four years, reducing everyone else in the league to a sidekick. Meanwhile, two ACC schools have celebrated Heismans - FSU with Jameis Winston and Louisville with Lamar Jackson - while Florida State and Clemson have earned national titles.

Saban has scared away all the good coaching prospects.

Mind telling me what happened when Lamar Jackson faced an SEC defense.

The ACC gets to play teams from the East every year. If they played teams from the West consistently they would get their asses whooped. They play their best teams against our bottom feeders, and beat Bama, and if they played that game over again I'd put money on them, as much as I hate them.
LSU whooped your Heisman winning QBs arse with a shrimp boat captain for a head coach.

Have another downvote, ACC scum.

Based on the 2016 results, it is hard to argue that the ACC wasn't better. To say it has surpassed the SEC or head and shoulders better is naive.

bullshite
UGA & UF are hardly "bottom feeders"
Clemson also beat AU last year
Most years the SEC is stronger, last year the ACC was stronger as a whole
Will be interesting to see how this year shakes out, esp since we have top teams facing off early in the year

I wouldn't mind a good ACC - SEC challenge. Probably would be a number of good games of all of them if played this year.
However, the ACC has been abysmal for quite some time, sans FSU, Clemson and maybe Va Tech.
Kudos to the conference for doing its thing to try to improve.

ACC was better last year, I don't know about this year.
That being said, the coaching talent is FOR SURE better in the ACC right now than the SEC.

Exactly. I read somewhere that the ASheShe hasn't had a winning decade vs the SEC as a whole in frickin' forever.

Or don't tattle tale on another school for things like free rides and free places to stay.
We're eating our own.

Agree 100%. Just wait until the Tide rolls Florida State and Auburn whips that Clemson arse this year.

A lot of former SEC coaching talent on that list...

ACC had Watson, Jackson, Francois, and Jerod Evans as the QBs of their four best teams. It's really not that hard to figure out why their conference was so good last year.

Go away Ramblin Wreck before LSU decides to accept another Peach Bowl bid and wax your Yellow Jackets all over the field again.

The ACC was probably a little better last year, and they had all the favorable match-ups to push that narrative. What I don't understand is why they were trying to tout it so much at their media days that nobody watches. It just looks pathetic when you try that hard.
The SEC never cared about being the best, they just were/are.
The ACC should be good, I mean they recruit the same areas. It is predominately a southeastern league.

The Heisman Trophy has very little cred anymore...if any.
