What does a crane operator on a job like that likely make an hour?

Those guys generally make decent money, the people leasing the crane make great money, this guy wasn't in either role if he was welding beams together.

Still decent money because of welding, depending on if he was a journeyman or higher. Not an OT baller though.

So good of you guys to define joking for everyone.

The guy is dumb and deservedly unemployed.

That's sad and pathetic. Criminal Charges should be brought up.

He does. He's obviously all in. That's not a crazy state to be in, apparently.

Yes, but welders on these jobs are not setting the beams they are welding, they are just welding, the cheaper labor is doing all the heavy lifting, so I have therefor question if he was actually welding.

No real welder is ever going to admit to questionable welds, they will argue with you when their welds fail testing because they never throw down a bad bead...

I would say it depends. A lot of welders started out as ironworkers so he could have just been helping out if they were short staffed. Very big if.

I doubt he was doing anything other than setting beams and bolt stuffing.

Sure, but part of the price of the facilities is because they are well staffed, they do not just "throw it up" to get to the next job as well.

Normally guys who are welders at these jobs are kinda prima donnas when it comes to doing anything but welding.

I'm sure his job title included "general laborer" and he was replaced with a guy of equal skill the next day off the street.
