I'd be curious to see how A&M's endowment numbers look for FY 2015 (which I assume is a 6-30 year end). I'm sure they won't be anywhere near underwater, but I bet they take quite a hit with the oil market tank job.

Price of oil should not have much effect on the value of the PUF (now growth of the PUF, that's another story). The PUF represents proceeds from oil production which are then invested--so the figure you see doesn't hinge on the value of oil, it hinges, instead, on the value of the investments they make with that oil money (stock market, mostly). A bad year on Wall Street will hurt the value of the PUF, while a bad year in the oil patch will simply slow the growth of the PUF.

Numbers are skewed slightly but overall semi accurate. ATM has tons of money but they can't ust spend it any way they wish.

The majority of the SEC schools have lower endowments due to those states being poor compared to the rest of the nation until recently with the population shift.

Ark's number is off compared to how other programs calculate their endowment, they like Auburn only report what's in their general Endowment fund. UAT's not that high as that's counting for the entire UAT system, which includes a medical school.

On a good note Auburn should move up to around 4-6 when the next endowment drive is completed. Which we desperately need.

This will be cut in half when oil falls to $30 a barrel and the aTm system has like 12 schools in it so its spread out a little.

Who gives a shite! There is zero correlation between sports programs and $$ of endowment.
Wrong board for desperate fan base. Go check the academic rankings and see where they rank. Clearly they are not getting their money's worth!

Silly horns talking out of their arse as usual.

The A&M System only has 4 schools that receive PUF money and only A&M has any real size. The others are Prairie View, Tarleton State, and A&M Galveston (which is an Annex of the A&M Main Campus).

Texas on the other hand has to split their 2/3 share with UT Arlington, UTSA, UT Permian, UT Tyler, UT Dallas, and UTEP.

PUF money per student is actually almost exactly the same between the Systems.

Oh, and BTW the $7.6 Billion number is from 2012, the latest number from 2014 is over $8.7 Billion, essentially in the last 2 years our growth alone is more than the total endowment of almost every SEC school save Vandy.

Private schools are also very different than public when considering endowments because they get no public funding. A&M still gets a check from the State on top of the Endowment money every year.

Really, it varies. One school can have bigger construction needs than the others. It depends, really.

But one thing that is not equal, is the Excellence Funding, fat boy. You probably don't know what that is.

Here, I'll show you:

quote:

In fiscal 2013, $447.2 million will go to the University of Texas System, of which the University of Texas will get $199.3 million for “excellence funding,” or about 9 percent of UT Austin's budget.

The Texas A&M University System is to receive $223.7 million, of which Texas A&M University is allocated $91 million in “excellence” funds.

$200 million UT Austin > $90 million A&M College Station

LINK

quote:

You are forgetting, from the A&M System:

Texas A&M Health Science Center

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
Texas A&M AgriLife Research
Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service
Texas A&M Forest Service
Texas A&M Health Science Center
Texas A&M Transportation Institute

Here's another stake in the heart of your bullshite:

quote:

Within the University of Texas System, UT Austin, according to Regent’s Rules, receives no less than 45 percent of the System’s share.

LINK

Let's see. The University of Texas at Austin gets almost half of 2/3 of the payouts, guaranteed.

One half of two-thirds is equal to one-third.

That means that even if Texas A&M College Station got every single penny of the one-third share (which it does NOT), then you might be getting as much money.

But you don't.

7.6 billion divided by how many schools in the A&M system? Vandy has no system to divide with and has only 6500 undergraduate students compared with over 50k at Texas A&M. The burden of dividing available endowment funds is much smaller at Vandy.
