As for the rest of your post...take it up with the AP and Coaches.
Nope. The AP and Coaches polls were not metrics used in your troll attempt.
Your EXACT quote:
quote:
Remember when their best team since 1939 lost at home to Driskel and Muschamp
Nowhere in that quote did it say "as based upon end of season final poll rankings".
Also, the 1956 team DID finish 5th in both polls.

You don't want to go down this rabbit hole with Korin, I promise

And yet here you are, using the same AP poll.
And you still haven't revealed if 56 TAMU finished #5 in all the major polls for some reason.

Actually, I did.
In both the AP and Coaches Poll, the ratings were:
1. Oklahoma
2. Tennessee
3. Iowa
4. Georgia Tech
5. Texas A&M

1. Your "source" is questionable at best.
2. Those weren't the only major polls at the time.

After 2 goalpost movements, the onus is on you to prove otherwise now.

The onus is on me to prove that those weren't the only major polls at the time? Well that's easy, check the NCAA records book. I'll even tell you the page #.

First it was "best team since 1939" - Proven false.
Then it was "best team by basis of AP and coaches poll results" - Also proven false.
The construction equipment you're using to move the goalposts has to come in for repairs soon from overuse.

Not the initial established criteria.
The established criteria was "best team since 1939".
The 1992 team had more wins than the 2012 team, a better record, and won their conference.
The 1956 team went undefeated (9-0-1), won their conference, and was ranked 5th in both the AP and Coaches' polls. (The 2012 team was TIED for 5th in the Coaches' poll with Georgia). Only six teams played in bowls that season, including #2 Tennessee who lost the Sugar Bowl.
The 2012 team had 2 losses, did not win their conference or division, and had more home losses (and losses overall) than the 1992 and 1956 teams combined.

But that's not the established criteria either.
Edit: And you're still wrong about 1956.
