And that's all they're good for is talking. Considering the amount of people who pretend to care about "racial inequality" by talking about it, you'd think they'd actually act instead of talk. They talk and yet, they aren't giving away their millions to lift blacks out of poverty. They aren't moving to black neighborhoods. They aren't working to physically improve these black communities... but taking a knee will magically lift these poor oppressed people out of poverty! It's as silly as sending "thoughts and prayers" to people who need food, shelter, etc.

Never fricking mind the fact that black communities have been controlled by Democrats for decades. Never fricking mind we just endured eight years of a black, left wing president who left office leaving blacks worse off than they've ever been while the rich are richer than they've ever been before after endless promises of "hope and change". Never fricking mind longstanding blue cities and states are so fricking expensive due to their costly left wing policies it's virtually impossible for anyone who isn't rich to survive.

Keep deflecting the blame of democratic failures on white Republican males... we wouldn't want your core voter base to ever figure that out. Meanwhile, who showed up to risk their lives in order to fight a flood and save the lives of others, regardless of their race/gender? It sure as hell wasn't the libtards who sat behind their computers wishing death on everyone in Texas for voting Trump. Who was responsible for the majority of the supplies gathered for the Texas flood victims? Religious organizations who are typically right wing (and who you accuse of being racist/sexist/etc.).

I think you protest too strongly. They aren't blaming all white Republicans.

Just the loons like you.

Poor horn. Life revolves around the SEC and what A&M does day to day.

Kneeling is starting to become fashionable. It's the new "look at me."

Blame the president if you don't like it.

I'd imagine though, most people REALLY don't care about kneeling during the anthem...they just don't like black people protesting.

Everyone who knows I'm right go ahead and hit the down vote button.

You're stance would have been more well received if you had stopped here.

I quit reading not long after as it became a stereotypical red vs. Blue rant. The bipolar political atmosphere that has largely been manifested by political pundits and $ chasing media outlets are easily to blame for the current state of affairs.

I support everyone's right to protest. I acknowledge that we are the greatest country in the world and leverage our diversity for that strength. Some dont feel that way, and that's okay. But, everyone has a chance to succeed in this nation. Some have to work a bit harder and put up with a bit more BS than others, but all have a chance. Other nations do not offer that as easily.

I think it is disrespectful to kneel or stretch during the national anthem, but my personal opinions aren't worth 10 cents, especially if kneeling makes an individual FEEL like they are making a difference for an issue they believe in. Good on them. I have fought and bled for that flag, and I find little fault in the action. I also very much disagree with the assessment of the action being manipulated only to further fan the flames of political divide.

However, I do find it humurous simply from a symbology standpoint.

Not many people have made a difference for their cause by taking a knee.

STAND UP and take ownership in striving for an enduring solution to the problem you feel you are facing. Take pride in going beyond controversial gestures and ACTIVELY seek positive cultural change. But, that's hard ... so take a knee and let the issue roll on unresolved if not worsened.

This is what politics is - two sides screaming at each other about their high minded, but ultimately meaningless ideals.

Colin Kaepernick is currently a free agent, but he’s been busy lately. Since pledging to donate $1 million of his salary to various charities in the wake of his national anthem protests, Kaepernick has donated $700,000 so far. This week, he announced the latest round of organizations that he’ll be donating to: American Friends Service Committee, Assata’s Daughters, Grassroots Leadership, and Helping Oppressed Mothers Endure. Much like the 20 other organizations he’s donated to, they’ll each get a portion of the $100,000 he’s been pledging each month.

Right, I'm sure you were a big supporter of the marches, or Hamilton, or...well you get it.

Self reflection is a good thing.

Black people have it "good enough"

that might be true but there's still a huge portion of our population that only thinks of the BLM movement as cop killers and thugs, I like to call them Limbaugh listeners. Clearly they are getting the message mixed.

Wow! How do YOU measure that. What type of work do you do in the black communities. Where are you getting your FACTS. Your statement is ignorance having twins those twins having twins. I have never seen such an asinine, false crappy statement. Where is your data how do you measure that black communities are worse. I would love to hear you get your data.

the exact opposite in my opinion. They care about the patriotic Anthem. They don't care about black people getting shot because it's not them.

The only people I see THAT upset by this happen to be conservatives, where it’s not American to disrespect military service but okay to vote for a 5 time draft dodger who attacks gold star families and POWs.

The same line of thinking that allows Rs to threaten civil war because Obama was going to take all the guns you still have, but somehow makes you more American than the libs.

The same logic that says not respecting our flag makes you less of an American, but harsher words for people who kneel during a fricking song than those who carried flags of countries our union were at war with (the nazi flag and confederate flag) that marched in Charlottesville.

If someone kneeling violates your safe space, turn off the fricking tv.

My Dad and every other vet fought for the right to stand OR kneel. Kneeling is not the way I would choose to draw attention to the issue of racial inequality, but the animosity on this board towards people exercising a right provided in the constitution should take a long look at what is “American.”
