Also, do you really think going to a six team playoff with one extra game would really change the impact of a loss in the regular season. I can't imagine it would change any.

In theory, I could go along with a 6 team playoff but the bye is too big of an advantage to be subjectively given out when there are many years where #1 and #2 aren't clearly above the rest. If that's the case, then let's just go back to the BCS.

First there was a voted national champion.

We just want 1 vs 2, they said.

No, we really just want the best 4, they said.

But 6 would be better? 8 would be grand!!

They're going to be playing 16 game seasons before you know it. They're amateurs, it's a tough sport, and it's hard enough to field a complete team at the end of THIS current format.

If they go to 6 or 8, the SEC should do away with the SECCG. Because it would be meaningless. And the regular season will lose its intensity.

4 teams is enough.

I think Bama fans are scared to death that the playoff will ruin their dynasty and expose Bama as merely mortal.

Agree with all you said, but 4 is too many.

I know we are never going back and I hate it, but the BCS was a superior system and more in line with the structure and history of CFB.
