Breaks my heart man it really does, anytime a child suffers like that in this world. All you can try to do is keep faith and know that God has a purpose in our lives.

How terribly sad. I've dealt with this in my own family. Two years ago when my daughter was three she got this terrible disease (tumor under her eyelid). Thankfully through 42 rounds of chemo and an operation she is clean and you wouldn't know she went through all that. A year ago she was completely bald and today she looks like every other little kid. Even though we were given great odds that she was going to beat it, I struggled with all the sad things we saw at the hospital. I only ever cried for other families, not ours. My daughter became involved with Camp Sunshine... they have parties, music classes and a full camp for kids dealing with and recovering from cancer. We just don't have the heart to tell her about a couple of little friends she made who passed on. Even though my own daughter had cancer I still can't even imagine the sadness and pain those parents go through when losing a child. It's incredibly unfair. edited to add: One sad fact about children's cancer is that only 1% of all donations to American Cancer Society goes towards pediatric cancer.

Man, what a story. Thanks for sharing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as well. I have a 2 year old little girl and cannot imagine how hard that must be. It is my worst fear.

I'm with you on that Darth. I've been tore for a couple of weeks now. We just had a young man here in the Hayden area go to be with the Lord, Aug. 22, from brain cancer. Only 9 years old and a huge Bama fan. His name was Hunter Alexander. We also have another in the Hayden area, Walker Jolly, battling a tumor in his brain also. He is only 6 yrs old. Please remember the Alexander family and the Walker family in your prayers. I have three children of my own and can't imagine losing any of them.

At the risk of sounding like a sap, seeing the way people come together over real life matters like this does me good. There's so much bickering and fighting on message boards that sometimes it's easy to think that there is genuine hatred among people just because of the colors they wear on Saturdays.

Seeing people rise above the pettiness is.......well it's just beautiful man.

Wow. What as small world. I know the child from Hayden you're talking about. I live in Oneonta where I'm an assistant coach on the youth "junior" (9,10, & 11 yr old) football team. I heard about his passing when our HC announced his passing to our team at a post practice huddle the day he died. We prayed for his family that night as our dismissal prayer. It really hit home to me that I'd stood on a sideline watching this little boy play football against my own son. For all I know, in seasons past my son my have even been face to face blocking him or vice versa. Really puts things into perspective.

I hear DaBama, to me this all just joking around, even when I say I hate bama and all that I really don't I just think it's funny to see people get riled up. For a child to suffer I don't care who his favorite team is are where he/she is from it breaks my heart. Children suffer all over this world and that is one thing I can't stand to see.

Terribly sad. Having two kids of my own, I just can't click the link and read it because it will only make me more depressed. Roll Tide.

Terrible. That poor little man...God Bless his family...

I do not understand why such a horrible thing happens to an innocent child when there are so many rotten, evil people walking around with perfect health...it just isn't fair.

He is no longer suffering, but his poor family is going through a very tough time that will never really go away...May they find some comfort in knowing that one day they will see him again in a better place....

Bless his heart. I have a toddler son at home. First child. I'm telling all you who don't have any kids yet, stories like that are a punch in the gut. Unimagineable something like that happening to your child/family. Hard to put into words the devastation his family must be feeling. Until you have a child you just aren't aware that you could love something - anything - as much as you love that little person.

Sigh... back to work. Prayers sent to him and his entire family. May they find peace - somewhere.

There's a lot of truth in those words.

It kills me so bad to see this happen. It is totaly unfair to watch an innocent child suffer. My son is 4.5 and this is just brutal. I feel for his parents becuase I would just fall apart if this happened to my son. Prayers sent to the parents and I am sure the boy is in heaven where he belongs now....

I can't imagine how bad it would be as a parent to lose a child. I don't even have any kids but I have 2 adorable little nephews (age 6 and age 3) and I worry about them all the time. I'd be physically ill if this happened to one of them.

t's a shame that there are no remedies for such illnesses. Especially for a child.

There are remedies for this illness. Ones that are proven to work..

Yet none of these remedies fill the pockets of any corporation.. so we still are 'searching for a cure'. A true shame.
