Can we get back on track with the UF bashing and get off of Tebow. He's managed to do it again, you guys are talking about him instead of the fact that UF was full of guys who act like drunk Russian teens.

The Tebow talk is worse than the countless UF fans trying to deflect by calling out other programs

I agree Meyers doesn't really care about the kids, but I just want to be real, any arrest after he was the coach , he can't control.

I think Meyers is a POS , but the NY Times is known for puffing up stories against colleges, see Auburn...... course Auburn did it. WINK WINK.. JK

I have to give it to Tebow, at least he was able to get out of Gainesville unscathed

Its obvious to me when you see 31 arrest in 6 years but then see 41 from 1 team in 08 its hatchet journalism ...... Its the NY Times what do you expect ?

it's obvious to me that you are nitpicking and may actually have been arrested yourself. you are defending the arrest record of a COLLEGE team. you sir, are pathetic.

He recruited the players and instituted that culture in Gainesville. He's largely at fault for what went on after he left the program.

Urban Meyer created a cesspool of a college football program in order to win and used Tim Tebow as a cover. People like him have no business serving as a leader of young men. He's scum; that's all there is to it.

I've seen one, maybe 2 UF fans in this thread. I'm not sure whom you're talking about unless its TJGator.

He's not pathetic, he's just wrong.
He just thinks the NYT is sensationalistic and Narrative-based.
He's right on that.
But he's wrong on this.

Yeah this is a great article. Almost as good as when I read about this in 2009. IIRC, Uga and Penn State were the only schools with more arrests than Florida.
Of ccourse they don't mention that anymore as it would defeat the purpose of the story.

Okay, resume dogpile.

From the comments:

quote:

Jenkins, the cornerback, eventually left Florida for North Alabama after Meyer’s successor, Will Muschamp, dismissed him from the team after marijuana arrests. Several months later, Jenkins spoke to The Orlando Sentinel about his dismissal.

“If Coach Meyer were still coaching, I’d still be playing for the Gators,” he was quoted as saying. “Coach Meyer knows what it takes to win.”

Kind of says it all. So much is overlooked as these young atheletes develop; it starts at the high school level.

Would you like to compare a list of what UGA and UF players were arrested for? Driving the wrong way on a scooter is not the same as unloading an AK47.
