And then OM finished off TT in the Cotton, proving that we belonged in the BCS title game over Texas.

Nebraska to Colorado in 01 and Oklahoma to Kansas State in 03.

You left out the part where those were both conference championship blowouts.
Georgia lost early mid-season, so it's more forgivable. 2001 Nebraska and Oklahoma 2003 had no way to finish strong besides winning a national championship that neither should have participated in.

Colorado/Nebraska wasn't a conference title game.

nah deeprig, genuinely interested in knowing if a team has lost by 4 touchdowns midway through the season and still finished in contention. no disrespect-we're not 28 points better than UGA last year, just like UF wasn't 33 points better than us, just how the game turned out.

FSU beating us by double digits with their backup qb in 98.

Welp, 1987 AU lost by 28 to FSU.

AU would not have played for the NC though. OU and the Boz were #1 until the bowl game when Miami knocked their dick in the dirt.

K-State beat OU by exactly the same score in 2004 and OU still got to play for the Natty.

Colorado curb stomped NE 63-36 or something like that in 2001 or so and still got to play Miami for the championship.

I remember reading a post from one UGA fan after this game calling for Richt's resignation...

I had moved to Orleans Parrish on a 3 year job back then. I never knew I had so many broke arse auburn buddies. We had a good time. I showed em some short cuts to the quarter.

Pretty boring game for someone not really invested in it.

Bama beat NC Penn St 42-21 in 1982. Then proceeded to have a suck season in Bear's last year.

The voters couldn't have been more wrong when they ranked Kansas State #1 following Alabama's loss. Kansas State would go on to be embarrassed by Baylor the following week and blown out by Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. Can we say overrated?

Nah, probably DGD. I've sung the same tune on Richt for pretty much the entire 9 years I've posted here. There has only been one, single time where I've actually verbalized me not wanting him to return. However, it was with a caveat that I wanted/needed him to do 1 of 2 things the following year, and he did both. I haven't said anything like that since. In fact I've probably been the most ardent Richt supporter out of all the UGA fans on here the longest.
