I was eleven in 1994 but barely remember the excellence of the Big 8. I just know it was good, quality basketball then. Missouri was no slouch then. Ole Norm!

Shitty leadership of the athletic department and basketball program?

Sad.

But I would take it every year for 11 wins in football.

Basketball has always been the college sport with the quickest turn around, good or bad, from season to season.

Which means you can go from being really good to being in the crapper in one off season.

I present Exhibit A: Arkansas which went from a feared NCAA tourney team to... this.

Next year we might be fantastic. We will see.

And 0-1 in the SEC. Mizzou's best team ever lost to Arkansas by 52 points that year.

With the transfer portal, NIL and one and done it is the perfect storm for volatility. Teams are rebuilding rosters every year. The NBA is more stable than that. UK won the conference in 2020 then went 9-16 the next year. It can happen to anyone. You can rise back up just as quickly.

They got their revenge the next season in the NCAA tourney when they ket the UCLA player drive the length of the court to beat them and ultimately beating us in the finals.

Well played Mizzou. Well played.

I dig the way you think.

I wonder what kind of diabolical 5D chess move we've got cooked up with this shitshow?

Should’ve stayed big 8

Beating missouri in December doesn’t have the same lift as it did in March

Yeah, we've had a few good teams since Norm, but not the consistency his program had.

I thought this would be upsetting but it really isn’t. Somewhere around 0-9 was peak low. We now have a record that is just going to make all wins in the future that much sweeter and hopefully this is remembered for a long time and we won’t let it happen again. Hell, I haven’t followed hoops this closely in a decade.

Me and my friends use to play basketball 1 on 1 tournies and we had to use big eight teams. I had to sometimes pick Mizery because Oklahoma was picked, they were elite back then... not so much now.

First, that doesn’t make any sense. I know math is hard for tenner hillbillies, but that’s embarrassing.

Second, which Missouri fan/player gave your mom herpes?
