We went for it several times on 4th down on their side of the field. Field goals would have done no good in that game...doesn't matter if you score 9 points or zero...a loss is a loss. Pretty sure we went for it inside the 10 yard line as well.

Agreed.
It doesn't matter if you score 1 point somehow, or muster up three field goals and score 9 points.
Had we converted all of our fourth down conversion attempts, we would have likely ended up with only 12 points anyways, which would not have been enough against their offense.
