You thought what? That you're mentally handicapped?

Exactly. Development is just as, if not more, important.
Jones doesn't strike me as that guy. More of a salesman.
I don't think I could be any less concerned with UT.

Even in our bad years we didn't lose to Vanderbilt by 23 points

I'll also say, it cracks me up remembering how pissed Vols fans were when they had to hire Jones who was like their 6th choice. Now he's the savior.
It's called the new coach recruiting bump. Happens everywhere. Remains to be seen if he can actually win games. He's not much of a coach so I doubt it. UT will be one of those underachievers under Jones. So much "talent" and so little results.

And you still had quality wins. Tennessee hasn't beaten a top 25 on the road since when?

The storm is headed your way. Enjoy the final year of freedom, bitches. Tennessee'll be raping your souls come 2015.

Without reading four pages, I'd like for Tennessee to get to the point that they're more competition for Bama on the TSIO than a Sunbelt team. Don't get me wrong...I'm loving that they are wallowing in misery, but jeez Vols...have some pride and some chest.

Beyond the rivalry aspects, TSIO is also supposed to be a measuring stick game that shows both teams progress - that's how Gen. Neyland AND Bear Bryant viewed it. The big problem for Tennessee these last few years has been the Dooley Era and subsequent lack of depth - to say he was a terrible coach and terrible recruiter is an understatement. However, it's not really accurate to say Sunbelt team even in these past suckass years (although we've certainly performed that way in most TSIOs of late. BUT by the time TSIO comes around we're beat up enough to where there's just not much we can do but even if we hadn't been we we haven't had the talent to keep up (every year Dooley was here the defense got worse, hell the offense got worse. Both sides of the ball quit every 2nd half - Every. Year.). BAMA's talent level is elite even by SEC standards.
Now these issues starting to get fixed at a few spots but it will take a little while yet before we have talent or depth across the board let alone in the same league as Bama. We've got a lot of talent right now but they are young (true froshies) and we are painfully thin on our lines.
As I mentioned up thread - our roster has flipped 66 spots since Spring of 2013. We played true frosh and true frosh walkons against you last year and we'll be playing just as many this year, esp. true froshies.
No way around it. Tons of talent came in this class but unless you've got a maturation chamber we can borrow, what's on the field will all be true frosh and true sophs (mainly true froshies). Injuries at key spots could devastate us this year - esp. on the lines (Dooley skipped an entire cycle and didn't recruit any lineman - only one other team out of all 125 FBS teams did that).

You're right.
You lost to Mississippi 32-0 and
Kentucky 31-5

UT 2003- 2013= 78 wins
LSU 1989- 1999= 58 wins
Looks like you're the typical bama buffoon
And for the record, LSU is a team I cheer for.

My GAWD. You really know nothing about the situation.

Who's trolling?
I really hope you are. I'd rather think you're trolling than that ignorant (note: I'm not saying stupid but rather unlearned) about what you presume to speak of as though they were facts.
There's opinions which are always welcome even when they're outrageous and especially when they're knowledgeable if negative but then there's stating things as facts when they're anything but. For example, the comment about Jones being a sixth choice is false and while you can question whether or not he can develop players, there's no evidence to support saying he can't which you state as a falsehood. Given what we've been bringing in as well as our traditions, history (power houses don't stay down and this has been the lowest point in our history - period), facilities, the extreme growth of highly rated instate talent as well as the 'new south recruiting pools' that make us perfectly positioned to recruit very, very, well and that have turned what was once viewed as a geographic weakness into and huge geographic strength, and the coaching job Jones did against UGA and USC despite having talent that in no way shape or form belonged starting in the SEC, true frosh walkons and true frosh all over the field and zero depth stating you're not worried about Tennessee is less than educated - an opinion that might be argued, I'll give you that, but it's not really an informed opinion given what's been going down on Rocky Top nor on some of the games we've seen or the facts in general. That latter part shows you haven't really followed the program closely nor are you now. The progress on and off the field has been immense but you have to have followed UT football to see it.
Furthermore, every Big 6 school has went through extreme droughts - far longer than ours and with worse records but you have to go back and see it. We went over 100 years without one, a dip here and there, but nothing like this or the kind of down period others have suffered and unfortunately it was our turn. Tennessee like other Big Six schools has far too many institutional advantages to entertain the notion we'll remain where we are and those advantages are finally starting to get used by a coach who knows what he's doing.
He may not lead us back to titles but I'll be shocked if we don't see dramatic improvement in the next few seasons. And no, I never said this about Doolz nor Kiffin.
And while I was willing to give Jones a chance, I was skeptical and didn't want to like him - we've been burnt twice in a row and personally never bought in to the last two guys - and that is true of the majority of Vol fans (we didn't want to like him or see a decent coach let alone a good one). You don't go through what we've been through and jump on the bandwagon of a coach who only went 5-7 even knowing the circumstances.
That said, it's ok to admit you're trolling (if that's what you're indeed up to).
Regardless, I understand the skepticism (you're new and hardly familiar with us). It just doesn't align with what's been happening nor does it align with a lot of facts.
