Nobody expected UT to be down this long and I think most of us have expected a return to prominence (not necessarily dominance). The SEC is going to be right up there with the west within the next couple seasons imo.

There are a few analysts who think 2016 already. However, I disagree as do most of us we've been saying 2015 for ages now. Check my postings.

The 2015 projection is based 90+% on maturation and recruiting upgrades which are already here at the skills position but we still need more bodies for the lines. When most of your team is true frosh and true soph's - 2015 makes a great deal of sense.

Well of course. We predict it will be 2015 so it would be rather silly of us to say it will be now. Our collective projection for this year has been a baseline of 6-6 with anything over that an exceeding of expectations - a better or worse outcome more than that is possible with this team given all the unknowns.

Next year however, maturity, and depth will be in place with fresh depth and talent coming into the lines. It will still be a young team but you better believe it will make some noise.

Care to make any other dismissive ad hominem attacks? I haz factz an analer-uh-sis to makez me argumentz - them there things are tha thingamajigs solid arguments and valid purdickshuns are based upon.

I take that to mean they might beat Vandy this year.

Laugh all you want but after Butch reels in another stacked recruiting class this year, VOLS will most likely be the most talented team in the East in 2015.

According to 247, Tennessee got 14 four star or better defensive linemen from the 2010 to 2014 recruiting classes. Also according to 247, Missouri got three in that time frame, and two of them are playing in the NFL now. Why does Missouri get so much more out of their defensive linemen with that gigantic of a talent disparity?

Because Pinkel is one of the best in the country at developing talent. Their teams are usually loaded with RS Jrs and RS Srs

The last coach to get you within three TDs is on the Alabama sideline now.

I'd add another to go along with him: attrition.

Dooley's attrition rate and his failure to file legitimate waivers was the reason for our low APR mess. Now that those waivers have been filed that's fixed but the attrition under Kiffin-Dooley is still unheard of. Not only did Dooley fail to recruit linemen - both Kiffin and Dooley brought in recruits that typically lasted a year (sometimes less and sometimes they made to 2 whole years! they were rare though) and I don't mean a 1 and done JUCO either.

Since the Spring of last year (2013) our roster has flipped 66 spots!

By 2015, Butch will have either processed all of the bad players that Dooley recruited or recruited over them with better talent. We only lose Worley, Marlin Lane and Devrin Young on offense..AJ Johnson, Coleman and Jordan Williams on defense after this season.

I would even say that 95% of the 2015 VOLS 2-deep will be made up of nothing but Butch's guys from the '14 & '15 classes, which will both be the best classes in the East for both years. Combine that with a few of the studs that Jones brought in with the '13 class (North, JRM, Sutton, Vereen) and we are as talented or more talented that anyone from the East.

The cherry on top of all that is that we've already seen Butch coach circles around Richt and SOS with a much less talented team. VOLS should be looking for at least 9 wins in 2015 when you consider our easier schedule and revamped roster.

Holy shite. That's why Butch will get 4 yrs, at the very least. Unless he really chokes in 15, but yeah, i didn't realize the numbers were that bad.

You say this like UGA and UF are just sitting around doing nothing. UT recruiting well isn't happening in a vacuum.

Since Butch Jones got to cinci in 2010, a team coming off a 12-1 season, he is 10-19 against teams with winning records.

In his 2 10 win seasons he feasted on losing teams, going 15-1. He was only 5-5 against teams above .500.

He was 2-6 last year at ut against teams with winning records.

Hes gotta do better than what hes done before for ut to come back.
