Apparently Cal did a program this afternoon with some generic comments about grinding harder on defense. No hint he is considering retirement. Apparently, according to Twitter, this year’s team didn’t even have a set practice time; the coaching staff just called them in whenever they felt like it and could fit it in their schedules. Like I said, next year will be really ugly.

He’s not going to retire and Mitch isn’t going to fire him this season. They’ll rework the contract, create some bigger expectations to keep the job, overhaul the staff, and if he doesn’t right the ship next season he’s gone.

I really overall don't want him to leave if we can't get #1 to replace him.
I do think he gets rid of Antigua and Coleman and should bring Kenny Payne back.
Curious at thus point on players. Sheppard will stay, but Edward's, Wagner and Bradshaw should all stay. I could see Bradshaw transferring. We need thiero back and after that go get quality in the portal.

Why aren't the players listening to that coaching tho? The Awful Coaching YouTube guy isn't exactly John Wooden or Phil Jackson but the things he pointed out can be done by any coach at the high school level.
I don't believe that there is no one on the UK staff who doesn't know that you should move under a screen, what a good defensive stance looks like, or that you shouldn't have your back to the ball and goal.
The players are just not responding to the coaching. That's on Cal.

Apparently, according to Twitter, when asked about Oakland, he said they really didn’t focus their defensive prep on the kid who hit 10 threes because that kid went 1-9 in another game Cal scouted; instead they focused on “Townsend”. What a doofus

Apparently a booster came forward today saying he approached the program with a $1 million NIL proposal for one of the players but no one ever called him back.

It was $100k and for Reeves, but that was from ksr, so it's suspect. Matt Jones hates Cal, and is on a witch hunt. That's why Cal ignores him.

I have always believed Cal was likely coming back. Our AD does not rock the boat. Now I don't think Cal would get the benefit of the doubt if he flops this hard next year.
I'm honestly indifferent at this point. There's recruiting perks to keeping Cal but holy shite has the last 4 been underwhelming

I would make that 5 when he does it again next year. Mizzou will get a win next year against Kentucky.

No, I posted that UK has the money to get rid of him. He still has not met with Mitch. Going to be interesting if Cal is willing to make changes.
