He was his usual arrogant condescending self on his show. He has done nothing wrong. I’m sure a couple sheep will be sacrificed- Matt Jones was alluding to some staff members spending more time at the bar than scouting.

I think Mitch is hearing it from the big time boosters. Let Mitch have the meeting with Cal, I don’t think it’s set in stone that he will be the coach next year.
Also, you would have to imagine that Mitch has put out some feelers to see if any coaches have interest in the job.

Cal has pissed off the fan base with his bullshite lectures, he has pissed off the local media, he has no relationship with the AD and tries to operate on his own independent of the rest of the athletic department. We had the annual he is going elsewhere nonsense and his condescending attitude towards the SEC tournament and the fans.
Matt Jones is not Cal’s problem. Cal is.

It’s awful quiet in Lexington. I am sure shite is going down more than we think. I bet tomorrow leaks will occur. No doubt in my mind, the Krafts told Matt to put out its time to move on from Cal to stir it up!

Not suspect at all. It’s the same guy that tried for a year to pump NIL money into the football program and was met with nothing but opposition from everyone at UK. It’s not hard to find out who he is if you look hard enough. He had a million dollar offer on the table for a bball player to return and never heard anything back. The reason for this is, all NIL contributions to basketball have to go through the coaching staff first before a player even knows about it. This was Cals rule. Also this was just before the announcement of “la familia” or whatever is the collective for basketball now. Matt jones may be a douche bag but he ultimately wants UK to be what it once was. Where did he touch you?

I have been following the Cats from childhood from tail end of Rupp’s years to the present. I have never seen the fan base this animated. Forget on line I am talking about people in public talking around the break room to restaurants and bars.
Joe Hall caught hell as did Tubby. But not this bad. May be because they were likeable. BCG caught it at the end but he was nuts. Plus you knew he was going to be canned. A lot of fans thought Sutton was railroaded by The UK President. Maybe not but the fanbase was not against him like I’m seeing now.
If Cal comes back and fails then there may be an open position for AD next year.

Do you think it’s so bad the crowds in Rupp will turn on the coaches (team, too?) if they screw up next year?

Joe Craft is huge contributor to UK. He has big bucks (billionaire) from coal and other enterprises. His wife was US ambassador to the UN from 2019-2021.

They wont boo the players or anything like that. They love Kentucky basketball. But crowds may thin as the year goes by and no one will stay after the game to hear Cal.

Yes…also, they are raising the contribution price for the lower level tickets to the big time donors this summer…a lot of them are pissed.
