Wasn't Mizzou an AAU member not long ago? Now they're sub-100 and behind the likes of South Carolina and Alabama?
They finally feel like they belong in the SEC.

Wow. Texas dropped like a rock. Georgia went up significantly. Florida State went way up, as did N.C. State. Oklahoma climbed into the top 100. Auburn and Alabama both fell out of the top 100. Missouri fell nearly 60 places. Washington State fell below the Arizona Schools, as did Oregon State. Oklahoma State fell below Ole Miss. Moo State dropped into the 170's. West Virginia is still the worst Power 5 school, while Houston finally cracked the top 200.

OM being ahead of mississippi state is a joke. I guess they must put heavy weight on the liberal arts majors. I'm guessing it is cause of the med school... which is stupid because there are more MsState grads that attend the med school annually than om grads.
I think you'd be shocked at the inner workings of our alma mater on the academic side. Its all about size, sizzle and sports nowadays. We even quietly lost our Tier 1 research status a couple years ago - something Ole Miss picked up. I'm not trolling when I say this - if Ole Miss runs with Tier 1 status and the football team gets hammered (so alumni will pay more attention to academics), they can be a top 100 institution in five years.
We're ranked below Louisville (which is a horrible academic school). Tied with rising UCF and VCU. We are slightly ahead of Texas Tech and West Virginia, the only two P5 schools we are ranked ahead of. There are even a couple of HBCUs ranked ahead of us.
But no one cares because we are going to bowl games and playing for women's basketball championships. MSU's academic reputation has taken a beating. They were in the 120s just six years ago.

Not surprising L6U is behind everyone in the SEC but the Mississippi schools.

Okay. So Georgia rose a few notches and Texas stayed the same.
Physics and shite.

eh, doesn't seem to matter while managing GaTech, aTm, UPenn, VaTech, UT, etc. grads.....

I understand people like to use this but really if you look at the methodology behind it it's pretty bad. The reputation score accounts for 22.5% of the score and is just a survey sent out to university employees asking them to assign a score from 1 to 5 on university's. Most people only rank about half of the schools. Not to mention the prejudices involved.

I really thought this would have made it to page 3 without an LSU mention, but I forgot that you still posted on this board.

So basically, it's the coaches poll.

LSU surprised me, maybe because I came close to going to grad school there.
So did Florida, a damned fine school and getting better every year.

I cringed reading those words haha. I just took the Audit part of the CPA exam and I hope to never see the majority of those words again.

Here's how the #1 ranked school in each power 5 conference would rank in the other four conferences.
PAC 12: Stanford (tied for 5th overall)
Would be the top school in every other conference
ACC: Duke (#9 overall)
Would be the top school in every conference except for the PAC 12, where it would be #2
Big Ten: Northwestern (tied for 11th overall)
Would be the top school in the SEC and Big 12 and the #2 school in the PAC 12 and ACC
SEC: Vanderbilt (tied for 14th overall)
Would be the top school in the Big 12 and the #2 school in every other conference
Big 12: Texas (Tied for 56th)
ACC - would be 8th
PAC 12 - would be tied for 6th
SEC - would be 4th
Big Ten - would be tied for 8th
