The number 1 just looks right next to Alabama

Historically, How good is Bama when they start #1?

2012 USC was thought to be the #1 team in the land.

2000 Alabama was thought to be the #3 team in the land.

That's how accurate these polls can be.

The 2005 Vols were something like no.3 or 4 in the preseason.

They ended up finishing 5-6.

I can't find anything for the Coaches poll so far but here's the AP.

1966: finished #3 despite being the only untied and undefeated team in the country.
1978: national champs.
2010: finished #10.
2013: finished #7.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

UF supposedly plays 4 teams ranked in the top 16 according to this poll. How does that give them the #103 SOS?

The fodder teams you play this year are hot garbage. North Texas, Presbyterian Blue Hose, and Umass each won like 1 or 2 games last year. Vandy and USCe aren't helping you either.

LSU has lost at least 3 games 4 years in a row.

As far as I can tell, they still don't have a QB.

They have uncertainty surrounding their head coach and have had two different DC's in 2 years, among other things.

How are they undoubtedly a top 10 team? Recruiting rankings?

This. LSU has benefitted from a hype machine all summer. There was nothing about this team that says top 10 that they have done ON THE FIELD. Unless they have added beef in the middle and gotten much stronger and improved their special teams not to mention the QB's decision making ability, they have done zero to be a top 10.
Now they will tell you that Harris is much better now that he has "experience", Miles has changed and will open up the playbook ( which would take carries away from Fournette) and that they have the best RB tandem in college football. Don't agree that tandem is best. Fournette has shown flashes of brilliance. I'm not sure what the other kid has done to merit their accolades. Aranda is a Buddy Ryan clone that will field the best defense mankind has ever witnessed even though they were small, weak and very bad with technique. If they addressed these issues and corrected them, cool, but if they didnt....

This can't be correct since a few UGA peeps on here lectured me earlier in this spring and told me that they were terrible.

Beat UF 3 years in a row without a QB.

That's got to count for something.

ironic isn't it that ewtee has Saban to thank for their '98 title. Saban's miracle in C-bus and FSU qb hurt...voila..a gifted NC.
