Acting as if LSU has owned Bama the last few years has nothing to do with a person predicting LSU to actually being better than the All mighty freaking tide for once. Stop getting your panties in a wad. You need to realize that there are going to be years where there is going to be other SEC teams that are better than Alabama. But I understand you being ridiculously spoiled by Alabamas recent success.

Are you ranking only the big six? Because I don't see how Auburn will be third in the west

Lsu too high, swap auburn with aggy

Aggy will never be one of the Big 6 in the SEC. Ask anyone who knows football to rank the power teams in your former conference and they will say Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas. All won multiple conference titles and national championships. Each had a period of dominance in recent history.

Bama...the list is long.
LSU...multiple NC's and SEC titles
Auburn...multiple titles...SEC & National
UT...great history and the first BSC title. Need another one and it may come soon.
UGA...consistently solid but need another NC. 82-83 is fading
UF...great history with multiple SEC & National titles

aTm is a fricking joke when compared to every one of the Big 6. Arky will expand the list before you clowns do.

You could have stopped right there. That's aTm's reality.

Auburn is the third ranked western Sixer for 2016. Non Sixers are not being ranked or considered in joining the Sixers

Ah, its the annual we haven't won anything in a long time but "bah Gawd" we are still relevant thread from a Georgia fan.

Why don't we compare resumes since your team entered the leage in 1992:

Conference Winning Percentage:
63.2%- Georgia (124-72-1)
44.6%- Arkansas (86-107-2)

"Big 6" Winning Percentage:
43.9%- Georgia (39-50-1)
33.5%- Arkansas (35-70-1)

SEC Championships:
2- Georgia
0- Arkansas

SEC Division Championships:
5- Georgia
3- Arkansas

AP Poll Ranking
#11- Georgia
#40- Arkansas

*Georgia has finished ranked 16 times since 1992 (#8, #10, #14, #16, #20, #22, #3, #7, #10, #10, #23, #2, #13, #19, #5, #9)
*Arkansas has finished ranked 5 times since 1992 (#16, #17, #15, #12, #5)

That makes nine Top 10 finishes for Georgia compared to Arkansas' one.

There is no Big 6 in the modern era of SEC football.

Want to bet?

Let's look at how the AP ranks the SEC since 1992:

#3 Florida
#4 Alabama
#8 LSU
#11 Georgia
#14 Tennessee
#15 Auburn
--------------
#24 Texas A&M
#34 South Carolina
#35 Missouri
#36 Ole Miss
#40 Arkansas
#48 Mississippi State

That's a pretty significant gap between those Top 6 and everyone else.... Texas A&M is the closest, and they weren't even in the SEC for 20 of those 24 seasons counted.

Meanwhile the "Big 6" all rank as Top 15 programs over the last quarter century.... along with Ohio State, Florida State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, USC, Nebraska, and Miami.

Arkansas, at #40, is sandwiched between BYU and Washington. Big difference there.

How about records vs. the "Big 6":

64.7%- Florida
55.7%- Alabama
47.4%- Auburn
47.3%- LSU
43.9%- Georgia
39.0%- Tennessee
------------------
33.5%- Arkansas
27.7%- Ole Miss
25.5%- S. Carolina
25.5%- Mississippi State

**Did not include Texas A&M or Mizzou since its only been four years.

But oh look! The same six teams at the top... that's weird.

How about we look at SEC Championships:

7- Florida
6- Alabama
4- LSU
3- Auburn
2- Georgia
2- Tennessee

Again, shockingly its the same 6 teams. No other program has won an SEC Title.

How about Divisional Titles?

11- Florida
10- Alabama
5- Georgia
5- LSU
5- Auburn
5- Tennessee
---------------
3- Arkansas
2- Missouri
1- Mississippi State
1- South Carolina

Again, I'm absolutely shocked! THe same six teams are at the top. Isn't that so weird?

quote:

Face it, you are part of the little 8 right now and unlike most of the other schools there Georgia has no excuse whatsoever to have done as poorly as they have.

You are correct. Georgia has underachived the past quarter century. Yet we still rank as the #11 program during that time, and easily part of the Top 6 in the conference. And even during an era in which everyone agrees our program has underachived, we blow away Arkansas in every single statistic. Imagine how bad it will look when we start meeting expectation.

Arksulli wants to try to claim that there is no "Big 6" in the modern era.... not sure what he believes to be the modern era.

But if you take 1992... the year Arkansas joined the SEC... the "Big 6" has only strengthened its argument.

In 1992, Florida was coming off its first SEC Championship. Meanwhile, Ole Miss had 5 SEC Titles and were 24 years closer to their most recent one than they are today. At that time, we were only 16 years removed from a "non Big 6" team winning an SEC Title, when Kentucky did it in 1976. But now, instead of being 16 years removed, we are 40 years removed... a generation.

In 1992, you could have made an argument that Ole Miss was a better program than Florida.... and the "Big 6" was not quite as well defined.

But today, the "Big 6" is better defined than ever before.

We were projected 6th in the East in 2013 & 2014 by most pundents and we won the East. Nobody has a clue. Our defense will be nasty and our O has improved. That said, we are 2-3 OL injuries away from starting walkons and getting our QB murdered.

Mizzou has for sure performed well during their first four years in the league. No one expected 2 East titles in the first four years. But even if Mizzou wins and SEC Title, they've got a long way to go to join the "Big 6".

All-Time Wins:
864- Alabama
820- Tennessee
787- Georgia
770- LSU
741- Auburn
717- Texas A&M
701- Florida
701- Arkansas
661- Missouri
655- Ole Miss

All-Time Winning Percentage
71.8%- Alabama
68.0%- Tennessee
65.0%- LSU
64.9%- Georgia
63.0%- Florida
62.9%- Auburn
60.2%- Texas A&M
59.0%- Arkansas
56.3%- Ole Miss
54.8%- Missouri

All-Time AP Poll Standings (w/ Points):
#2 Alabama (989 pts)
#9 Tennessee (682)
#11 LSU (612)
#12 Auburn (554)
#13 Georgia (548)
#17 Florida (487)
#19 Arkansas (439)
#20 Texas A&M (365)
#22 Ole Miss (347)
#32 Missouri (251)

Of the SEC's 10 best programs, Mizzou without a doubt comes in at #10 (though way ahead of the other 4 teams in the conference who quite frankly are very far below Mizzou). Of SEC teams, Mizzou comes in 10th place according to the AP... 10th place in winning percentage... and 9th in all-time wins.

Mizzou lacks a national title along with Arkansas and Ole Miss.

It would take far more than just an SEC Title for Mizzou to join the group. Put it this way, Mizzou could finish #10 in the AP for ten consecutive seasons, and you'd still trail at least 7 teams in all-time AP poll points... most of those still by a considerable margin.
